HONG KONG – Since the Richter-scale magnitude 8 earthquake struck China two months ago, the disaster relief work in Sichuan has slowly moved into the reconstruction stage. In the afternoon of July 13th, believers, pastors, and ministry workers gathered to pray on the most urgent topics of need -- praying that the Lord can choose the “Nehemiah” to bear the burden of reconstructing Sichuan.

World Vision to Raise 27 Billion HKD for Sichuan
Since the 7.9-magnitude quake struck Sichuan just little over a month ago, World Vision, Christian humanitarian organization, has setup the goal of raising 27 billion HKD to cover the cost for disaster-relief and reconstruction for the disaster zones in Sichuan, Gansu, and Shaanxi, and has been engaged in full scale disaster-relief work. Approximately 1 million people will benefit from this humanitarian aid.

Survey: Hong Kong teens generally identify with traditional Chinese cultural values
In order an effort to promote traditional Chinese culture, the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong, in collaboration with Macao YMCA, Guangzhou Suigang'ao Teenagers Institute, and the Teacher Chang Foundation of Taiwan, has conducted a survey on teens measuring their cultural awareness. They found that Hong Kong youths generally identify with and support the values of traditional Chinese culture.
