2011 Greater Vancouver Missions Fest Concluded Successfully

2011 Missions Fest Vancouver, which drew over 200 exhibitors from a diverse range of Christian ministries from throughout North America and tens of thousands of Christians in the Lower-mainland of Greater-Vancouver, concluded in grace.

With the conference theme of “What does the Lord require of you?”, this year’s festival was held at the Canada Place, Vancouver Convention Centre, which is one of the city’s landmarks, from January 28-30, 2011.

In the closing general session, Michael Oh, president and founder of the Christ Bible Seminary in Nagoya, shared the word on the Lord’s Prayer. He exhorted the participants to live a purpose-driven and glorious life, reflecting on the deep meaning of every phrase of the prayer that Jesus taught and living with them as the center of their lives.

Among the films featured in the 2nd annual Missions Fest Vancouver Film Festival (MFVFF), “The Cross: Jesus in China – Seeds of Blood” was shown to the public. Produced by China Soul for Christ Foundation, this film has made a wide-spread impact among the Chinese churches in mainland China and overseas. It explores the bloody footprints of the Chinese missionaries of the older generation after the Boxer Rebellion, particularly in the past fifty years.

Missions Fest Vancouver started 27 years ago, during which many influential speakers were invited to share their experiences in missions and visions of God’s calling in order to challenge believers in different positions in the society to spread the gospel. In addition to the keynote speakers, the conference features music worships, film festival, workshops, and youth programs.

The 2012 Missions Fest Vancouver will be held again at the same location, Vancouver Convention Centre, Canada Place, from January 27-29. The organizing committee has invited Gracis Burnham from The Martin & Gracia Burnham Foundation in USA, Shane Claiborne from The Simple Way in USA, and David Wang from Asian Outreach International in Hong Kong, and others.
