"All-new and now in its 10th generation, Honda's venerable compact car has thrown down the gauntlet for the rest of the segment," Kelley Blue Book wrote on their website. "Honda's latest Civic is the most sophisticated yet -- and will leave competitors scrambling to catch up."
The latest Honda car has an edgy and sportier-looking body. It has a longer hood and shorter rear overhang.
Under the hood of 2015 Honda Civic, it sports a new 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, the Civic's first turbo, which makes 174 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque--making it better from the previous Honda cars.
The improved horsepower and torque exhibited better fuel economy. Drivers can go a long way because of the car's fuel efficiency.
As for the interior features, the 10th generation of Honda has a terrific audio system, so drivers can have concert-like listening experience while driving the car. Moreover, it has radar, navigation system and panoramic roof. The onboard communication system can accommodate both Apple CarPlay and Google's Android Auto. Also, the car has enough space for its adult passengers, and it has a big trunk for storing stuff.
The securities features of Honda 2016 are also top of the class. It has LaneWatch system that gives drivers better view on the road. It enables drivers to see the right side of the car to eliminate the blind spot. Honda's Sensing Package includes assisted collision braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning signals.
On the road, the new Civic feels competent and steady, quiet on the freeway but comfortable in the canyons. Its small motor makes it sound more like a kitchen appliance than an automobile.
"My overall impression was that the 2016 Civic will make for an easy driver, something you can jump in and go for a quick trip to the store, the daily commute and even longer weekend trips," a review from Cnet.com published.
Honda officials said the new Civic is "bi-modal," which means it is expected to appeal to both young car buyers who will purchase their first automobile and older car lovers who want to downsize their car to a smaller vehicle.
"We do believe we are going to catch buyers from other manufacturers," added Honda senior product planner Michael Willrich in a published report from LA Times.
According to Willrich, the base price of 2016 Honda Civic is at $18,640. Its LX model costs only $150 more than the 2015 model.
