The 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban would be the two newest Chevrolet rides that will be bestowed with the Midnight Edition treatment for the coming year. Of course, the Midnight Edition does not mean that your 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban would end up as some sort of Knight Rider vehicle which will be imbued with an Artificial Intelligence (AI) that goes beyond that of automated driving, hill assist, front collision detection and the ilk. It is more of an external facelift than anything else, and you can add a few more macho points to your 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban as you drive around the neighborhood.
Both of the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban are rather large sized SUVs which have gained quite a respectable following, and it makes perfect sense to introduce the Midnight Edition in order to further boost its market share. Tahoe retail sales have seen an increase by up to 18 percent compared to 2015, while Suburban sales have jumped by 30 percent compared to 2015. The combined market share for both the Suburban and Tahoe has gone up by a combined 3.6 percent in 2016 alone, and Chevrolet leads the way in this vehicle segment Stateside. The 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban actually represent approximately 50 percent of all full-size SUVs that are sold in the US alone -- pretty impressive figures!
This would mean that the stable of Chevrolet Midnight Edition vehicles would continue to grow as the 2017 Suburban and Tahoe link up with the likes of the Silverado, Colorado, Equinox and Trax. It makes plenty of commercial sense to see these two iconic rides end up with a Midnight Edition that they can call their own considering their influential market share, and the Tahoe happens to be the top selling full-size SUV in America, while the Suburban carries the distinction of being the longest running nameplate in automotive history ever since it was introduced in 1935.
There will be two very special variants for the Midnight Edition Suburban and Tahoe, with the Z71 Midnight package and the LT Midnight package being your choices. Regardless of which variant you pick, all Midnight Edition vehicles will arrive in just one color that would make Henry Ford proud -- black. This is reflective of the name, don’t you think so?
The Z71 Midnight Edition will arrive with everything that the Z71 Package has, adding on the likes of 18” black-painted Z71 wheels, roof rack cross rails, black grille insert, and black Chevrolet “bow tie” logos. The Z71 Midnight Tahoe will also boast of aggressive Goodyear DuraTrac off-road tires.
As for the LT Midnight, it will boast of all of the features that the LT trim levels of Suburban and Tahoe carry, except that you can get around in 20” black wheels, all-season tires, roof rack cross rails, black assist steps and black Chevrolet “bow tie” logos.
So far, pricing details for either ride have yet to be announced. We do expect Chevrolet to release details on the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban prices as the availability gets closer.
