The return of Adele in the public eye has been marked by her signature vocal renditions and poignant music videos. Although years have passed since she last took on the center stage, people have been more than eager to embrace her new singles. Hence, it came as no surprise that her newly released album, titled 25, has been widely anticipated by her millions of fans and followers.
While her previous songs had been inspired by heartbreaks and loss, the version of Adele who emerged this year emanated an aura of content and happiness. The singer, who has been out of the spotlight for roughly a year, gave birth to a beautiful baby boy with partner Simon Konecki. The couple named their child Angelo.
"My whole life, even this comeback -- because that's what it is - is built around my kid," shared Adele in an interview via USA Today. The Rolling In The Deep artist went on to share, "One of the scariest things about my new album is that, for the first time in my life, I'm looking into the future, into the next 20 years. Before it was all about what you'd do on Friday, plans for the weekend."
Adele also noted that she intend to move "forward in a massive way, in a way I didn't think I'd be doing for another ten years." With this decision, the new mom Adele shares that the things from her past will no longer affect her as intensely as before. Moreover, Adele shared that her heartbreaks are simply a thing of her old self. According to the singer, Konecki is nothing like her former partners.
"I've had boys all my life, and it's so much better if you have a man," she shared, referring to her failed relationship in connection with her 41-year-old partner. She added, "Boys are insecure; they can't keep up with me. When you have a proper man, it's different. Nothing fazes him. I love him."
Meanwhile, Adele also discussed her body image issues - the same things that plagued the singer in the past. Prior to her son's birth, Adele had been battling critics who constantly comment on her physical appearance in comparison with other singers such as Beyonce, Britney Spears and Rihanna. However, Adele had been adamant in her stance that appearances do not affect her music. In this interview, though, the singer admitted that the said issues affected her in the past but no longer hurt her nowadays.
She shared, "I do have body image problems for sure, but I don't let them ruin my life at all and there's bigger issues going on in the world than how I might feel about myself and stuff like that." Adele went on to state, "There's only one of you, so why would you want to look like everyone else? Why would you want to have the same hair style as everyone else and have the same opinions as everybody else?"
