Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update Release Date for Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, Galaxy A5, A7 and Note Edge

Latest on Android Nougat roll out. It gets rather tricky figuring out just which particular smartphone model will be on the receiving end of the latest Android operating system version.

After Samsung's newest devices -- Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7-- got their share of Marshmallow, the firmware is now rolling out to other devices in different parts of the globe. Here's are the latest about the release date of Android Marshmallow (Android M) to Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, Galaxy A5, A7 and Note Edge.

From Android 5.0 Lollipop version, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7-inch models in Germany are set to receive Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The South Korean phone maker rolled out the new firmware to the Tab S2 with model no. T815 with support for 4G LTE connectivity.

Sam Mobile reported the firmware version T815XXU2BPD6 is being released with build number MMB29KT815XXU2BPD6. 

For now, the new software is available for Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 owners in Germany and some parts of Italy, but other European countries can expect to receive a notification very soon.  As for users of the device residing in the United States, the update will come from their respective carrier networks.

Owners of Galaxy Tab S2 8.0-inch model should wait a little longer as Samsung has not yet announced the release date of Android M to the device.

With the latest Android M update, owners of the Galaxy Tab S2 can now create multiple user accounts and share the tablet with their friends without worry about their private information.

Furthermore, International Business Times reported Samsung seeded Android 6.0 Marshmallow to Galaxy A series devices. Users of Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016) are set to get a taste of Marshmallow firmware after Wi-Fi Alliance has certified the update.  Both devices became available with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop right out of the box. However, Samsung did give any details about the actual release date of the update.

Other devices in Samsung Galaxy A series, such as A3 (2016) and A9, are also scheduled to receive Android M update.

Despite Samsung having a plethora of models, the tech giant has been quick to release Android M upgrade to its devices. So far the company released the update to Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy S6 Edge+. The newest handset from the company--Samsung Galaxy S7--comes with pre-installed Android M.

Android Marshmallow is the latest operating system from Google. It introduces revamped user interface, updated security features and innovative applications.
