With the Android 7.0 Nougat update being prepared for release to different handsets, you can be sure that Samsung would be right up there with one of them. Some of the Samsung devices that have been lined up to pick up the Android 7.0 Nougat update would be the Galaxy S7, the Galaxy S7 edge, the Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 edge, and the Galaxy S6 edge+. Of course, the Galaxy Note 7 was originally slated to pick up this update, but with the cancellation of the Galaxy Note 7, that device has been taken out of the equation.
Samsung has not picked up a reputation for releasing operating system updates, so it does not look as though that is going change anytime soon. In fact, we have learned that the Galaxy Note 4 has recently picked up the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update on some US carriers, which was also accompanied by a two year old plus Samsung device -- the Galaxy S5.

There was a recent GFXBench sighting of the Galaxy S7 with Android 7.0 Nougat running on it, which does point to the very real possibility that an operating system update is in tow. To be more realistic however, it would seem that the first quarter of 2017 would be when Android 7.0 Nougat will be released for the flagship Galaxy S7.
Samsung has also been reported to have been testing out its Samsung TouchWiz UI to run with Android 7.0 Nougat, and the amount of testing is touted to have reached completion. In fact, Samsung did roll out a beta version of Android 7.0 Samsung for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 for testing purposes. Do take note that this is not a release that will happen worldwide, which means all Galaxy Note 5 users will not be on the receiving end of such an update. In reality, the beta update was made available to Note 5 owners who reside in China and Samsung’s home country, South Korea.
The installation of the update would run along the same vein as that of other updates. It goes without saying that users of the Samsung devices that will receive the update include performing a backup of your devices -- all of its photos, videos, messages and emails, and any other downloaded files. Other than performing a simple cut and paste, you can also plug your respective devices into a PC and use the appropriate software to get the job done.
After successfully downloading the update, you will be able to turn your Samsung handset into an Android 7.0-powered device. Also, make sure that you have a stable and secure connection to your Wi-Fi network, not to mention have at least half of your battery life left -- otherwise, it would be better to keep it charged.
With Android 7.0 Nougat, you will end up with the likes of quick-switching ability between apps, multi-window support, enhanced notifications. VR (Virtual Reality) interface, seamless updates, Screen Zoom, and better support for the Java 8 language.
