Whenever there is a rollout for an Android upgrade, it is always a slow wait for users of Android devices less than two years old to get it.  Considering that Google announced that Android 6.0 (also known as Android M or Marshmallow) began to roll out about two months ago, very few have it.  Those that have it are probably Nexus users, which is Google's own brand of devices.  But what about those who have Samsung devices like Galaxy Note 5, S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge Plus, Note Edge, Note 4, and S5?  This is what is known about the Release Date for Android M Version 6.0 Marshmallow Samsung devices on carriers like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and US Cellular.

A recent report from the Latin Post details that Samsung could be updating a large majority of its flagships from this year in the earliest months of 2016 provided a certain leak of the Android Marshmallow update is to be believed.  This leak, if valid, exposes the release dates of Samsung's most popular devices, due to arrive sometime in the first quarter of 2016.

The list of devices that will receive the update include the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Samsung Galaxy S6 Duos, Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Duos, Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo, and Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A.

It is believed that the update will show up on these particular devices next in Q2 2016: Samsung Galaxy Alpha, Samsung Galaxy Tab A, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0, and Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7.

There are other reports, such as one from Pocket-Lint, saying that the Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge +, the most recently released devices from Samsung, will be receiving their Android upgrade by the end of this year.  The flagship S6 and S6 Edge will be receiving the Android M upgrade in February 2016, and the rest of the aforementioned Samsung devices receiving their upgrade in Q1 2016.

There are also reports from the International Business Times that not only will devices like the Samsung Galaxy S6 receive its Android 6.0 update; but it could also be getting an update to version 6.0.1, which is a small step up.

The reason for the delay has to do with the Android OEM finalizing its software update, and U.S. carriers must also go through testing before releasing any update over the air (OTA).  Once that happens, there will assuredly be some hang-ups depending on what carrier the Samsung user subscribes to, like Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and US Cellular.
