LG users under US mobile carriers who want to have Android 6.0 Marshmallow are in for some good news. So far, LG Inc. is probably one of the best companies to bring Android M to their subscribers. Now, here's what is currently known about Android M version 6.0 release date for LG devices.
Tech Times reported that LG G3 owners under Verizon already received their Android M update. The news is almost unbelievable because US carriers are known for delayed over-the-air (OTA) updates compared to other mobile carriers around the world.
Reddit user Jrdnram_98 confirmed the LG G3 Android M update. He said that he started receiving the OTA update to Android Marshmallow on his LG G3 phone from Verizon. The user even posted a screen shot to prove it. Hours later, other LG G3 users also confirmed the update.
Because the update is now confirmed in Verizon, several LG owners from other carriers -- US Cellular, Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T--believed they will get the Android M very soon. However, Android upgrades often vary from carrier to carrier, but it is a good sign when it lands to one, as all the other carriers will get it eventually.
Last December, LG G3 owners in Poland received Android 6.0 upgrade. The update is now gradually being released to LG G3 users in other countries as well.
As for other LG phones, LG Nexus 5 2013 and Sprint LG G4 phones received their new software in countries like Poland, South Korea, India and in the United States. For LG G4 users, who are under Verizon and T-mobile, expect the update to come at the end of January or in the first week of February, a report from Morning News USA noted.
LG G Stylo, which is a Galaxy Note contender, received its Marshmallow update recently. Moreover, LG G4, LG G3, LG G Flex2, and LG V10 will also get their new operating systems, IB Times reported.
The rollout of the firmware is gradual, so some users will have to wait for several days before they receive the update. Users can also check their devices to know if it is ready for Android M. Just visit Settings> About Phone> System Update.
It reportedly takes only 20 minutes to download the new software. For a speedier update, it is advisable to download Android 6.0 Marshmallow via WiFi.
