Sony is keeping true to its word about releasing Android Marshmallow (Android M) to different Xperia Z gadgets. After a beta program a month ago, users of Xperia Z gadgets reportedly starting to receive the latest update. Here's the latest round up of news about Android M roll out to Sony Xperia Z2, Z3 and Z3 Compact .

Sony Mobile released the Android 6.0.1 to Xperia Z2 and Z3 series. The latest firmware from Google is now live for the the Xperia Z2 with build number D6503, Xperia Z3 with build number D6603, and  Z3 Compact with build number D5803.

GSM Arena reported the update is not yet available in many parts of the world. As of now, Xperia Z owners in US, Russia, Ukraine, Middle East, Latin America and North Africa can get a taste of Marshmallow firmware.

For Xperia Z owners in other parts of the world, have some patience as Sony is working hard to give the update very soon.

Xperia Blog said the update weighs around 330MB, and it brings fixes for home screen issues, wrong onscreen navigation buttons and non-responsive double tap to wake. In addition, it introduces the Camera 2.0.0 user interface and Android security patch for February.

So far, Sony has rolled out the Android Marshmallow to Z5 Premium, Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z4 Tablet- Wi-Fi (SGP712) and LTE (SGP771) models.

Furthermore, Xperia Z3 Tablet, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia M5, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia M4 Aqua and Xperia C4 are included in the Android Marshmallow roll out.  Users of these gadgets should wait for Over-the-Air (OTA) update notification from Sony.

In related news, Sony SmartWatch 3 users are finally receiving an OTA update for Android Wear v1.4 for API 23, which based on Marshmallow. Google expects all SmartWatch 3 users will receive a notification this week, as per reports from NDTV.  

It is also advisable that users of any Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 to check their devices to know if it is already available for upgrade. In order to do it, just go to Setting menu and System Update.

Android Marshmallow provides innovative apps and features that are not present in Android Lollipop. One the firmware's interesting apps is Now on Tap, which provides ready-made information and links. It also saves user's time of leaving their app to find additional information.
