Now that the upgrade for Android 6.0 (also known as Android M or Marshmallow) has been out for a few months now, it is only a matter of time before the it rolls out on all Android phones.  The ones from Motorola are an especially interesting lot, as they have many flagships, but the upgrades are happening.  This is the latest news about Android M Version 6.0 Marshmallow Release Date for Motorola Moto X, G, E-Series for US Cellular, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile.

A new report from the Indian Express states that Motorola has started rolling out its Android 6.0.1 update for Moto G, 3rd Generation, in India.  It also states that Motorola had earlier released the Android Marshmallow update for the Moto X Play smartphone.

Last week, a report from Phone Arena stated that the Motorola X Play, a phone intended for Canada, Latin America, and Europe as well as India.  It began to receive the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to both Canada and India.

Gotta Be Mobile reports that the Moto X Pure Edition was one of the fastest Android 6.0 upgrades in the United States, but users of other regions and different Moto X models haven't been as lucky, at least until now.  This is an unlocked phone with the promise of timely updates, so the fact that they were not coming was most certainly a problem for users of this phone.

There is a handy chart on Android Pit that reveals when the Android rollout for Motorola devices are coming out, and the only one that is confirmed available is the Moto X Pure Edition.  The others in the X series that are marked "Confirmed" which included the Moto X Play, the Moto X Style, and the Moto X (2014).  As for the G Series, the confirmations are for the Moto G (2015), Moto G (2014), and Moto G (2014) LTE version.

This chart also has the Moto E marked "for certain regions".  There will not be an update available for the United States for the Moto E, even though Motorola promised that in the past.  The Marshmallow upgrade will be arriving on Snapdragon 410 powered versions in Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Asia, excluding China.

So it looks like the rollout for Motorola devices is happening, but in a slow way. This is not uncommon for rollouts of the new version of Android, and it is also not uncommon for different U.S. Carriers (Verizon, US Cellular, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint) to receive the upgrade before others.  If you have any of Motorola's devices, you might actually have access to the Android Marshmallow upgrade, depending on your carrier or locations. You should be able to go to your "Settings" menu on "System Update" in order to find it.
