Latest on Android Nougat release date

After Google officially announced Android v7.0 mobile OS is named Nougat, the focus now shifts to which devices will get the new software. Google has been pretty vague when it said Nougat will be released in "late summer". However, gadgets lovers believe the new system will be available in the next couple of months, or maybe even less.

Here's everything you need to know about Android Nougat Release Date for HTC Nexus 9, Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5.

An updated schedule from Canadian Mobile network Rogers hints Android users will see Nougat sooner rather than later. As expected, Nexus devices will get the firmware first before other devices. Rogers lists Android Nougat on the Nexus 9 as "coming soon."

The list also features other popular mobile brands like LG, BlackBerry, Huawei, Sony and HTC. So far, the list has been shared by many Android users, believing that the new firmware will be released in the next couple of weeks. As of now, the latest Android smartphones are running on Android Marshmallow.

For Samsung Galaxy S7, tech experts say it would certainly receive the Android Nougat. Samsung traditionally releases a new version of Android to its latest devices. In addition, it is possible the upcoming Galaxy Note 7 series, which will be released in August, may get the Nougat update.

Tech Radar reported Google will roll out the near-final Android N firmware by the end of July. After that, the final Gold Master (GM) version will be released to the public in the third quarter of the year, probably on last week of August or early September.

After Samsung received the RTM (Release to Manufacturing) version of Android Nougat, it will make some changes to the software, so that it is compatible with the user interface of Galaxy devices. The South Korean phone maker would also add unique features to the software.

Earlier this month, Google revealed the official name of Android 7.0.  Nougat follows Google's long tradition of code-naming Android releases after a sweet treat. The firmware will reportedly have support for virtual reality applications by integrating a dedicated VR mode to its system. In addition, it said to introduce improved Doze mode, updated security features and revamped notification panels.

We expect Google will release more details about Android Nougat in the next few weeks. We'll give you more updates as soon as we know. Stay tuned us for more details.
