Now that Assassin's Creed Unity's Patch 2 is live for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, many eager players are already looking forward to the much larger Patch 3 and what it can bring to the popular stealth game.

"As compared to the previous patch, Patch 3 is going to be larger in scope, addressing a number of bugs in the areas where you're telling us you're having the most problems," according to a blog post on Assassin's Creed's official site.

Patch 3 is expected to focus on several aspects of the game that were neglected while the Ubisoft team fixed up the critical "no face" bug that plagued PC users since launch last week. Although the team says that the bug was actually fixed back in Patch 1, the graphical problems were still happening for those PC players who never patched up.

"This should not be affecting any players who are allowing their game to be automatically patched as recommended with updates as they are released," the team commented in a post on the game's official blog.

But Patch 3 will bring with it some much-needed fixes to gameplay, including bugs that caused main character Arno to get stuck frequently, problems with going in and out of cover, animation bugs, and "general camera problems."

Because of the intricacy of the Assassin's Creed AI and how non-player controlled characters interact with your own character, it's important for the developers to tweak certain problems that were causing NPC navigation issues and responsiveness to Arno's location in the game when associated with each NPC's response.

Several other bugs are being addressed to help make for a much smoother experience, including matchmaking and connectivity issues, missing details in menus, overlapping pop-ups, and general stability of the game.

Assassin's Creed Unity is the seventh installment in the popular historical action game series by Ubisoft Montreal. It features a "parkour" style navigation system throughout the game environment, and a stealth mechanic that has inspired several other games in the last few years. The setting switches between modern day and the French Revolution, but certain "time anomalies" can place the main character throughout various important points in Parisian history.

The game has so far enjoyed positive reviews with an overall Metacritic score of 77/100 for the PS4 and 73/100 for the Xbox One.

"Again, while the ultimate list of fixes for Patch 3 isn't finalized yet, it will be soon," the official blog describes. "Part of what we want to do at this point is balance the competing desires to get as much as we can into the patch with getting it out quickly. Once we've locked down exactly what will be in Patch 3, we will update you again with a more specific set of patch notes. This next patch won't solve every problem, but we're expecting that it will dramatically improve your experience."

In addition to what bugs will be squashed, the team is also taking performance issues very seriously. "We are also investigating various performance issues including framerate drops, and are looking into how we can address them. We'll tell you more about our progress on that topic in the coming days."

Assassin's Creed Unity's Patch 3 has no official release date as of yet, but is expected before the end of the year, according to feedback. If you'd like to share your own feedback with the development team, be sure to head over to the game's forums or submit a support ticket if you're having any other issues.
