Battlefield 5 Release Date, Battlefield Hardline Update 4.1, And Betrayal

Battlefield 5 is coming. EA/DICE

Right now, EA and DICE have a Battlefield issue.  When Battlefield 4 was released, it had a lot of bugs and glitches.  Then when it came to Battlefield Hardline, many players didn't enjoy its focus on crime, heist, and policing elements rather that what Battlefield is known for: military warfare.  This puts a lot of pressure on the studios in order to give players a very decent Battlefield 5, and this is what is known on the release date and news of Battlefield 5 and the Battlefield Hardline updates.

Battlefield Hardline has recently received an update known as 4.1 which is good for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, and the PC.  PlayStation Lifestyle reports that this is a minor update compared to the one on March 1, which is focused on fixing issues on improving server stability.

Then there is a fixed bug with the Gun Bench Kill Counter was not enabled for Premium members or owners for the recent expansion, Betrayal.  EA/DICE fixed the bug about SWAT colors in MP matches, and also fixed a bug with L1/L2 and R1/R2 are swapped on the PS3/PS4, and the LB/LT and RB/RT are swapped on the Xbox One and Xbox 360. As far as the gameplay is concerned, there are some issues in Alcatraz, the Growhouse, and the Dressed to the Sixteens will be awarded.

As we have reported before, there was a listing for Battlefield 5 at World of Games, but it was changed as it had a release date listed for October 26th.  This could be a sign that the game is on its way to retailers.  In fact, it seems like a lot of signs are pointing to a holiday release.

Much of the word on Battlefield 5 is that it will come back to military warfare, and this one could focus on World War I.  This is because the original listing on the World of Games posting said "Mehrspieler Taktik Shooter im 1. Weltkrieg." This translates to "Multiplayer tactical shooter in WW1" in English.  That is a change from the present-day setting from Battlefield Hardline, and a WW 1 game is going to have a lot of atmosphere to it that will be very different.

EA Access users could be getting the game a few days before everyone else, according to Gotta Be Mobile.  There will more than likely be a beta version available a few days before the release date, and it probably arrive only on the PS4 and the Xbox One.

As far as when the release date of Battlefield 5 will be announced, it will probably take place at E3 2016.  The Electronic Entertainment Expo is a huge video game convention that takes place every year at the Los Angeles Convention Center.  This year, EA plans to be using space at Club Nokia in downtown LA, just across the street.  Expect a big Battlefield 5 announcement to be made there.
