Are you out shopping for a new laptop, but are spoilt for choice with the sheer variety that is made available to everyone? Well, you would certainly find that Lenovo’s collection of laptops are worth checking out. For those who do not really bother about the price tag but want nothing but the very best, then Lenovo has their flagship model, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon, available. You will be able to check it out at CES 2017 as Lenovo showcases their products at the signature annual tech showcase event.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon is a flagship laptop that would fall under the extremely portable business laptop range from the Chinese manufacturer. This is not the first model to carry such a name, but rather, is already in its fifth iteration. At first glance, it might be rather difficult to figure out whether this is the new model or not as it does look pretty much the same like its predecessors. However, if you were to actually place it on a weighing scale to compare its weight with the older models, the 2017 Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon will tip the scales at less than 2.5 pounds, which is a wee bit lighter compared to its 2.7 pound predecessor. Not only that, the smaller form factor still allows it to pack in a Full HD 14-inch display, despite having a carbon fiber chassis that is normally reserved for 13-inch laptops.

To keep with the times and not be left behind in terms of processing muscle, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon will run on Intel’s new Kaby Lake processor while sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon X7 LTE modem. In terms of its battery life, this is where it gets a whole lot more interesting. The flagship 2017 Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon is touted to be able to run up to 15.5 hours on a single charge alone, which is a whole lot more, to the tune of an additional 50%, compared to its predecessor that required a trip to the nearest power outlet at approximately 10 hours of use.

Not only that, this laptop will support Microsoft’s Precision Trackpad which can also be found in other newer ThinkPads from Lenovo. The SD memory card slot is not included in the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon, but it does maintain a pair of USB Type-C ports to cater for the future, in addition to having another two USB-A ports as well as an HDMI port.

The flagship Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon is tipped to ship from February onward with a starting asking price of $1,349. Obviously, there will be other variants which allow you to have better specifications at different price levels. All in all, Lenovo has always come up with some very solid laptop designs which are also star performers in their own right, so the flagship 2017 Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon ought to be worth checking out if you are in the market for a brand new laptop.
