The follow-up to Clash of Clans is a digital card game called Clash Royale

Supercell decided to follow-up its already hit game Clash of Clans with Clash Royale, and its limited initial release eventually led to something more worldwide.  Clash Royale is a completely separate game that stand on its own two feet, with a completely different development team working on it.  The game is being reported as in decline, but recent updates and more updates to come could bring it back to what its fans want it to be.  This is what is currently known about Clash Royale Update release dates.

Clash Royale had an update about a month ago that included six new troops, double the rewards from Tower Chests, gold for each battle won and even more.  Supercell then tried to do more on the weekend of May 18th, and a full list can be found on Gotta Be Mobile

There has been a recent article from Pocket Gamer saying that Clash Royale is running out of steam.  This is really based on how the game has dropped on top ten charts of apps, and they say it is because the game "starts to get grindy after a while".  A separate article at Gotta Be Mobile states that developers at Supercell are starting to listen to user feedback from Clash Royale, and there are a few things that fans want to see changed.

The first is to bring in the Healer.  Since Clash of Clans and Clash Royale are beginning to bleed in to each other, it just makes sense to bring in this class of character.  It could be as a high 5-7 elixir card, or some type of healing spell.  It would certainly be a good way for the player to combat freeze spells, poison, and other obstacles.

Another addition would be Air Defense, which would be helpful to combat such things like Lava Hound and the like.  This would take some more air troops being added to the game.

There is another "elephant in the room" that has to be addressed, and that is that players don't have enough in-game currency to upgrade cards and progress in the game.  They added a small amount of gold that players can earn for each victory in multiplayer, and increased the Crown Chest reward and gold output.  More changes are going to come for this, for certain.  In addition to increasing the in-game currency, there is hope that Clash Royale is going to increase the number of Legendary troop cards.

The last aspect that needs to be updated is how the emojis are used.  Sure, the taunting is one of the things that players like, but users dropping the five or six cry emoji's after they win are essentially just sore winners and encouraging trolling.  It would be better to have more emoji pre-set commands or just disable that option entirely.

Supercell is attempting to game balance, and there has been at least one major update each month since the release date of the Clash of Clans spinoff, so there will be more for sure.
