Marvel and Netflix really have an intriguing Cinematic Universe with four shows: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.  All four shows are set in the shared Marvel universe, but it has a darker edge.  Coming up is Daredevil Season 2, as well as new shows like Luke Cage and Iron Fist, with Jessica Jones Season 2 mixed in.  How will these shows fit together with crossovers before they team on The Defenders?

By now, anyone who was a fan of Daredevil Season 1 knows that The Man Without Fear will be making another appearance as Season 2 will begin again.  Most already know that Jon Bernthal will be entering the cast as The Punisher, an anti-hero from the comic book source material who has no problem killing criminals with an arsenal of guns and knives.  There will also be an appearance of another fan-favorite character as Elektra will be joining the show.  Played by Elodie Yung, this veiled vigilante was a partner to Daredevil (Charlie Cox) in the comics, and they were also lovers.

The Day Herald reports that there is a scene where Elektra and Daredevil are fighting an enemy, and then the police intervene, and then The Punisher also gets involved.  So yes, it appears that there will be a lot going on with Season 2 of Daredevil, and there are even rumors that Mister Fear and Mysterio, known villains from the Marvel Universe, could be showing up, according to Screen Crush

Many have been wondering how Daredevil Season 2 will tie-in with Jessica Jones, Season 1.  There was little overlap except with the introduction of Claire Temple, aka The Night Nurse (Rosario Dawson).  However, the first season of Jessica Jones was a huge hit, even though there hasn't been word of a Season 2.  The same thing happened with Daredevil Season 1, but fans were rewarded, and this will probably happen to Jessica Jones.  On Fansided, the showrunner Melissa Rosenberg stated that she hopes there will be one, but wasn't certain whether it will happen before or after The Defenders show premiers, which also doesn't have a fixed release date.

Daredevil Season 2 will be out in the Spring of 2016, and then the wait will be on for Luke Cage later in the year.  Luke Cage (Mike Colter) was completely revealed on Jessica Jones, so it will probably be a smooth transition for his show.  In fact, it is set to take place after the events of Jessica Jones, where he will have to rebuild his life after his wife has been successfully avenged and his bar was destroyed.  Considering that Daredevil went for a dark crimefighter, Jessica Jones was a darker crimefighter with alcoholism and PTSD, it is not really known what direction Luke Cage will take.

The same goes for Iron Fist, which remains a big mystery.  Some new information has surfaced about it at Screen Rant.  They report a name of Dylan Kendall, which could just be a placeholder for Danny Rand, Iron Fist's real name.  It is reported that Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss) from Jessica Jones will be regular on the show, and considering that her character inspiration was from Iron Fist comics (and male, by the way), this comes as no surprise.

It looks like Iron Fist is slated to have a shooting time for next year, which means that it might not be out until 2017.  This means that The Defenders probably won't come out until then.
