The next phase of this Netflix Marvel Universe will be taking place on March 18th, 2016, when Daredevil Season 2 begins.  Not only will it take place right after the events from Season 1, but since it is connected to the Jessica Jones universe, that will have to affect it as well. Jessica Jones Season 1 ended with the title character (Krysten Ritter) killing the mind-controlling villain Kilgrave (David Tennant).  This was after Kilgrave had gone on a rampage with his powers, leaving many victims in his wake, all of whom will need lawyers. 

Fortunately, Daredevil (Charlie Cox) is a lawyer named Matt Murdock.  Chances are, there is going to be an anti-superhero fury that is already beginning to boil.  Jessica Jones showed a world where the public is aware and slightly afraid of superheroes, with good reason.  After all, this takes place in the same world as The Avengers, where New York was invaded by aliens and robot the Avengers made named Ultron nearly destroyed the world.  It was the heroes that saved the city and the world, but what isn't being seen is how the general public would react to the presence of some super-powered beings. 

Sure, these super-heroes might work for the government, but that might give people more reason to fear.  Especially when Captain America: Civil War happens.  The film opens in May, and the trailer reveals that the world doesn't seem to be satisfied with no accountability as far as superheroes are concerned.  This is how the event comic from Marvel's source material began, and even though the next Captain America film is going to go in a different direction, the result could be the same. 

That is, the superheroes that want to protect their privacy will be on one side while the ones who are content with their identities publically known will be on the other.  It looks like it will come to blows, and Captain America: Civil War is already planned to involve a rebooted Spider-Man, and characters from the Netflix universe could easily join in.  If so, then they will be on the private side.

In fact, it looks like the Netflix heroes are opposite of the Avengers.  That is, instead of being out in the limelight and treated as heroes, they could be seen as villains, people that non-superheroes should arrest. 

Netflix's newest series, Luke Cage, could open in a world after the events of Captain America: Civil War.  At that time, the general public's view of superheroes could be questionable at best.  This means that Luke Cage (Mike Colter) should stay undercover.  How this will affect Iron Fist is anyone's guess, as the show hasn't really had much news about it. 

Then there is also the Punisher.  This antihero from the Marvel universe who kills bad guys will be surfacing in Daredevil's Season 2, as well as a potential assassin named Elektra. Yes, there are vigilantes who kill their enemies, and Matt Murdock is going to have his hands full trying to take them out. 

There are rumors that the Punisher is going to get his own series, but that hasn't been made official.  What is the plan is to group Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist (and maybe the Punisher) together for The Defenders?  What will they be defending themselves against?  How about getting arrested, for one thing, as these underground heroes might not get the public trust.
