Once Netflix and Marvel saw the numbers of people watching Daredevil Season 1, it was a true no-brainer to green-light a Season 2.  In fact, there was a long-range plan to introduce Daredevil along with Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, and then bring them into their own Marvel Netflix Cinematic Universe with The Defenders.  There is a lot in store for Daredevil Season 2, and this is what is known about it, along with its release date, news update, and possible crossover with Jessica Jones.

The trailer for Season 2 of Daredevil has been out since New York Comic-con, and it gives a peek at things that most fans of the show already knew when it came to the second season.  For example, it shows The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and even shows his trademark skull on an X-ray film.  There is also a brief shot of a veiled figure that is Elodie Yung, playing fan-favorite and possible love interest for Daredevil with Elektra.

With these two anti-heroes dealing out their version of justice in Hell's Kitchen, Matt Murdock (Daredevil's real name) is going to have his hands full.  There are also reports that a Ninja organization called The Hand will be showing up.  There was a possible glimpse of them on a Season 1 episode where Matt meets his mentor Stick (Scott Glenn), but there will be more of them, as well as their rival organization, The Chaste.  The Stick will also be showing up once again.

Right now, there isn't much being said about Daredevil Season 2, and perhaps this is deliberate, as it won't appear until the spring.  Episodes are currently being filmed, but most of the current Netflix/Marvel hype is dedicated to Jessica Jones

Comic Book has a new trailer out for Jessica Jones, and unlike Daredevil Season 2's trailer, there doesn't seem to be a lot of spoilers.  The one that most are looking for is the Daredevil tie-in.  Considering that Netflix and Marvel envisioned four Marvel series (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist) and then wants to put them all in the same room and adventure with The Defenders, Season 1 of Jessica Jones or Season 2 of Daredevil would be the time to start this.

However, the Jessica Jones preview's only view of Daredevil is an acknowledgement that the show comes from the people who made Daredevil.  There is no quick shot of Matt Murdock, Foggy, Karen, or anything else.  There is news that Rosario Dawson, who plays Claire Temple (aka Night Nurse) in Daredevil Season 1 will appear on Jessica Jones playing this character.  Will Daredevil be mentioned?  If Jessica Jones is planning a full-on crossover, then we would think that it would have leaked somehow.  As it is, all episodes of Jessica Jones will be streaming on Netflix on November 20, 2015, and we'll know how much the two worlds will combine in about a week.

The issue is how can the worlds of Jessica Jones and Daredevil combined?  One of the things that will make Jessica Jones a more speculative show is that her character demonstrates super-strength, and she is fighting a villain named Kilgrave who has the power of mind control.  Considering that Daredevil's "powers" are somewhat believable hyper-senses, it might be difficult to fit this character in the Jessica Jones universe.  However, they both work in Hell's Kitchen, and exist in the same world as The Avengers, so I don't see how Marvel could resist a crossover.

Right now, on Realty Today, it states that the release date of Daredevil Season 2 is April 15, 2016.
