"Deadpool 2" was already in the plan even before "Deadpool" was shown. Now that the first movie did so surprisingly well, many are more excited to know what is in store on the sequel. Here is a very roundup of reports and rumors on "Deadpool 2."
Yes, Cable will be part of "Deadpool 2"
It was teased in the post-credits sequence that Cable will be part of the sequel to this R-rated superhero movie. Ryan Reynolds aka sassy Deadpool was not joking and bluffing about that.
Writer Rhett Reese now revealed more details on the possible teacup of Cable and Deadpool, emphasizing that if it indeed happens, it will be in Deadpool's world and not that of the X-Force's.
"I think there's a real conceptual difference between taking other characters and big things and bringing them into Deadpool's reasonably small, gritty world and the opposite, taking Deadpool and placing him among big ensembles who are fighting aliens or in the future where he and Cable are doing something in the future", Reese told Collider.
He added that this makes more budgetary sense. "I think if Cable and Deadpool team up, it will likely be in Deadpool's world. That allows us to control that budgetary thing a little more; I don't think we're gonna see Deadpool and Cable on some far-flung planet 300 years from now," he explained.
"Deadpool 2" will have the same "small budget"
The first "Deadpool" movie had a modest budget of $58 M but went and earned as high as $135 M on its first three days. Now, it already has over $300M banked worldwide, even if it has been out for a week.
"Deadpool 2" will not be having a bigger movie just because it now can. "We don't want $150 million to go make the next movie, that's not Deadpool. Deadpool doesn't lift cities up into the air or battle aliens coming down to earth, that's just not Deadpool. So we're happy in that little small budget range that they have us in", he said.
"Deadpool 1.5" Coming First?
Before "Deadpool 2" though, Reynolds teased that there could be "Deadpool 1.5" Speaking with BBC Radio 1, the actor said that they have enough excess footage enough to show an alternate version to fans. "I can actually tell you right now there will be, there's too much footage - too much stuff that we love, and we had to make choices, and that's just the nature of the beast. But yeah, we have enough for a few sequels, probably!" he said. It remains to be seen if this is true or Reynolds just took on his "Deadpool" persona - always bluffing, joking, sassy but remaining adorable.
