"Duck Dynasty" star Sadie Robertson has recently befriended a few members of the Duggar family, triggering speculation that a crossover with "19 Kids and Counting" could happen in the future.
In a report posted by the Inquisitr, both worlds of American reality TV collided when Robertson decided to hang out with Joy-Anna, Jinger and Jana Duggar. She posted a picture of the budding friendship together on Instagram back on March 30.
"Truly the most beautiful girls inside and out," Robertson wrote. "[I'm] excited about our new friendship. Thank you for being so sweet to welcome me into y'all's beautiful home. So proud of how this family shares their faith with the world."
According to the Inquisitr, both "Duck Dynasty" and "19 Kids and Counting" have wide appeal with the conservative Christian crowd. However, when it comes to lifestyle, 17-year-old Robertson seemed to be "a real wild child compared to the Duggars," despite the fact both households adhere to conservative values.
"There are many '19 Kids and Counting' fans who will be happy to see Jana Duggar befriending someone like Sadie Robertson," the Inquisitr wrote. "The 'Duck Dynasty' star is a little more open-minded about the world, so perhaps she'll be the one who convinces the Duggar girls that they don't have to live life with so many restrictions."
The Inquisitr highlighted the differences between the Robertson and Duggar household. The publication noted that although her father, Willie Robertson, tends to be protective of her, the teenager had relatively more freedom compared to the Duggar sisters.
"For one thing, she attends a public school, whereas the Duggars are homeschooled," the Inquisitr wrote. "She was also allowed to compete on 'Dancing with the Stars,' which is something that the Duggar girls would never dare to do."
Jim Bob Duggar elaborated on his family's very conservative views on dancing in an article posted by Beliefnet.
"As far as dancing, something that we believe-it's a personal conviction-is that a lot of times, when a guy sees a girl dance, it really can be defrauding to a guy, especially if they're dressed immodestly," Duggar said. "The definition of defrauding would be building up sensual desires that you cannot rightfully fulfill."
However, Sadie's influence on the Duggar family could be a good development for them. According to an editorial written by Advocate Condell Medical Center and posted on Daily Herald, Robertson posted a video on YouTube about fighting negative body image that has went viral and left a positive impact.
"A healthy body image comes from self-confidence and self-worth, which are developed by a sense of accomplishment in artistic, athletic, scholastic or other abilities," Dr. Anna Craioveanu said. "It is important that parents support their children so they may develop these abilities."
Despite their differences, the Inquisitr reported that Robertson still admired her new friendship with the Duggars, even though they lived a very conservative lifestyle.
"Sadie considers it an honor to be compared to the '19 Kids and Counting' girls," the Inquisitr wrote.
