"The Following" DLC coming soon. (Techland)

Those who are familiar with the survival horror film Dying Light are about to get even more as its developer Techland promises even more of an expanded world with and expansion known as "The Following."  This is the current news about Dying Light  "The Following" DLC Release Date, Price, and New Features, as well as news about the Enhanced Edition.

CNET has posted Techland's Question and Answer for fans of the game, letting them know what to expect.  Those that own the original Dying Light game will be able to purchase the expansion of "The Following" as a DLC for $19.99, and The Season Pass costs $29.99.

There is also a second-tier expansion available called Dying Light: The Following-Enhanced Edition for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One for the price of a regular game.  This new enhanced version of the original game has a new difficulty level known as Nightmare Mode, 250 special Legend Levels to unlock, an all-new Bounty system, plus the new DLC.  The Enhanced Edition also contains all previously released DLCs, community-made maps, gameplay enhancements and more.

The massive expansion will have a lot of new features, as well as a storyline that we have written about before.  "The Following" DLC is named because of the mysterious and fanatical cultists that "have unnerving connections with the zombie outbreak".  These cultists live in a hazardous outback, and the area is as big as the original maps from Dying Light combined.

It is suggested that the player be at the level of 18 or more to start playing "The Following", but the expansion DLC can be played anytime after the initial prologue from Dying Light.  Players will be able to transfer their character and progress from the main campaign to "The Following", and develop the character further in both the main game and the DLC.  The player will also be able to travel seamlessly in between the new map and the old one.

As for what is found in "The Following," look for new enemy types with new behaviors and attack patterns, and that is about all that Techland would say on the matter, probably to keep an element of surprise.

Like the original Dying Light, Parkour will also be appearing in the game as means of movement and weapon. There will also be ways for players to upgrade their dirt buggy with things like a ramming bar, mine dispenser, flamethrower, larger fuel tank, and much more.  There are also little touches like paint jobs and dashboard collectibles.

Driving plays an important role in the DLC, there is a new Driver Rank on the skill tree of Dying Light.  There will be various upgrades and skills learned there through performing specific actions behind the wheel.  Another new feature of the skill tree is a Trust Rank, an indicator of how much the locals trust you, which is earned by completing errands that help the community overall.

Look for the release date of "The Following" for February 9th on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
