The upcoming bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Andre Berto, which is the final match of the undefeated champion, has been ridiculed by followers of the boxing world. Apart from how the September 12 bout will feature two boxers pegged with incomparable career records, Mayweather has 48 - 0 while Berto achieved 3 - 3 in his last six matches, sports analysts also point out that other athletes like Amir Khan and Keith Thurman would have been better options than the former Welterweight champion. In fact, even a rematch with Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao has been deemed as a more suitable end to Mayweather's boxing career.

Despite these criticisms, one man remains adamant that the tides will turn on September 12 - and that is none other than Berto himself. According to TMZ Sports, Mayweather called out his September 12 opponent via social media, boldly stating, "September 12, 2015 for number 49. Come be part of the history." Berto, however, has other plans as he eyes the upcoming bout as a platform to make history himself not as the 49th boxer to fall short in breaking Mayweather's undefeated streak but as the one to actually stop his reign. Berto was quoted as saying, "We focused and dialed in ready to MAKE history!"

Meanwhile, Khan expressed his support for "stablemate" Berto in this upcoming battle. Although he shared his disappointment over not landing the highly coveted spot, Khan believes that Berto will give Mayweather a "very tough night." With no new opponent in sight, Khan disclosed that he intends to keep up his hard work and eyes to reach the top of the welterweight division in the future.

He said, "I'm disappointed not to have got the fight for what is the third time after having been one of the frontrunners." Khan added, "However, there are many big fights out there for me and I'm going to continue working hard to establish myself at the top of the welterweight division. Floyd Mayweather has fought the biggest names throughout his career and has earned the right to face whoever he chooses."

While the fight is between Berto and Mayweather, it looks like another pair might join in the face off. In a separate TMZ report, Berto's chef reportedly dissed the famous chef of Mayweather. Citing that his client is on a "Warriot Diet," Berto's chef claims that the food Mayweather consumes "looks good on the soul food side" but will not be beneficial for his health in the long run. At the moment, Mayweather's chef has yet to respond to the criticism.
