Hello Games' No Man's Sky is scheduled to hit PlayStation 4 consoles on August 9, but one lucky gamer reportedly purchased a leaked copy of the game at Ebay. He apparently paid more than $,1300 to experience firsthand the upcoming space-exploration game.
A Reddit user named "daymeeuhn" paid more than 20 times the standard asking price for a leaked copy of No Man's Sky. He said he bought the game from a seller on Ebay. For proof, he uploaded a video on DailyMotion that shows he is installing the game on PS4.
Furthermore, Daymeeuhn uploaded a video of No Man's Sky gameplay. After a brief space-themed visual sequence, he lands on a planet named "Fljodal Nientv." Take note that this is not the default planet of the game, every player starts on a unique planet from the game's massive universe. It is also highly likely that some players will not discover Fljodal Nientv.
After Daymeeuhn landed on his first planet, he received an electronic message to repair his spaceship. In order to do that, he used a default laser weapon to mine resources from the planet, which he can use to craft materials that will repair his spaceship.
Daymeeuhn's uploaded videos on DailyMotion have been deleted due to copyright infringement. However, some users re-upload the videos on Youtube and other streaming sites.
For the part of publisher Sony and Hello Games, they are asking users not to watch or re-upload Daymeeuhn's videos. In addition, Hello Games' head Sean Murray requested fans not to spoil themselves. "We've spent years filling No Man's Sky with surprises," he posted on Twitter.
In an interview with Kotaku, Daymeeuhn said Sean Murray's disappointment made him feel guilty for leaking the first footage of No Man's Sky.
Earlier this year, Murray gave the basic details of the game. He said they used the procedural generation technology to create the game's massive 18 quintillion worlds. Aside from planets, the technology also creates the game's plant life, buildings, alien species, spaceships and more.
The primary objective of players in No Man's Sky is reach the center of universe. In order to that, they are equipped with variety of tools, such as scanner to collect resources and weapons to fight enemies.
Now, for those who want to have an advance copy of the game, they can checkout Ebay's website. There might be many copies of leaked No Man's Sky, and the seller just wants to post it one at a time.
