If there is one gaming series that has kept Microsoft's Xbox afloat, it would be...Halo.  After that, it would be the Gears of War series, first revealed in 2006, and now for a fourth official iteration by the end of 2016.  This is what is currently known about Gears of War 4 Game as well as its Beta Release Date and News.

Gears of War 4 was unveiled at E3 2015, and there will probably be more revealed at E3 2016 when it comes once again to the LA Convention Center in June.  According to Gotta Be Mobile, the game will focus on two new characters: a man named JD and one woman named Kait.  The trailer shows them fighting against a new threat that is different from the Locusts, who are the chief antagonists in the other games. In fact, this threat looks like it could be even more serious than the Locusts, which means that the action is about to get bigger.

There are some things about the Gears of War franchise that will remain the same.  The characters are armed with the guns complete with chainsaw bayonets to make deaths very violent and gory like something out of Mortal Kombat XL.  Cliff Blezinski, the lead designer of the previous games, says that fans will like where the story will be going in Gears of War 4, but that was all that he said.

For those that want to get into a new world of Gears of War, there is good news as Microsoft confirmed months ago that there will be a Gears of War 4 Beta.  Since the series thrives on being a multiplayer experience, it is all about getting as many people to play as possible, and hope that the servers can handle it.

The Beta should arrive soon, but not like in the summer soon.  Qualifying for the Beta will require a purchase of the Gears of War Ultimate Edition, the Xbox One remake of the first game of the series.  This edition is available now for $39.99.

So far, the word on the release date for Gears of War 4 has been mum from Microsoft.  It is most certainly expected to arrive before the holiday season of 2016, giving Xbox gaming sales even more of a shot in the arm than Halo 5: Guardians did last year.

IGN reports that if you want to play Gears of War on the Xbox 360, that is not going to happen, as this is pure Xbox One in its guts and glory.  In fact, there will be some Gears of War Ultimate Edition Xbox One consoles for sale for $349.99 which includes 500 GB of storage.  So far, there is no word of pre-orders.
