Fans of the hit GTA game franchise will be pleased to hear that some bonuses are coming for the weekend (provided you aren't playing on the PS3 or Xbox 360). The Be My Valentine update is going to grant some new items for players, as well as a Till Death Do Us Part Adversary mode. All of this bonus content has left users wondering about GTA 6, especially in the light of one of the minds of Rockstar Games leaving. This is what is known about the GTA Online Be My Valentine Update and the Release Date of GTA 6.
According to Metro, GTA's new update is available now. It has all the extra from last year's Valentine's Day special being added back into the game for a limited time.
Players can get an updated version of the Albany Roosevelt classic car, not to mention the original. You can always go to Los Santos Customs to modify the vehicle if you like. Also available is some 30s style clothing like suits, vests, boxer shorts, and stockings. There is even the Gusenberg Sweeper machine gun, presumably to live out the ultimate GTA love story, Bonnie and Clyde.
Also on Friday is a couples-based Till Death Do Us Part Adversary mode. Oddly enough, the company hasn't shared anything new about what this is about. Considering that it will be out tomorrow, it had better be interesting. If it is anything like the ending of Bonnie and Clyde movie, they both die. Is that where this is going? No wonder Rockstar is being tight-lipped over it.
It has been revealed that GTA isn't the only one doing a Valentine's Day themed special as Destiny is also at it with the two vs. two competitive mode with Crimson Days.
By the way, it has been reported on Gamespot that GTA Online recently enjoyed its best week ever in terms of revenue and the number of people playing. Considering that there has been a demand for GTA 5 single-player DLC that has not been met yet, this is hardly too much of a surprise.
Considering that GTA is the biggest games on the planet, there has been a lot of talk about the release date of GTA 6. A recent report from the IB Times states that the newest edition of the game was supposed to launch with the release of the new Sony PlayStation sometime in 2018. In fact, Rockstar is working on the game right now, as of December of last year.
There is an issue that might delay the game, as Leslie Benzies, the mind behind the game, has left. Originally, it was supposed to be a 17-month sabbatical, but it ended up being permanent. This could mean that the game could be delayed until 2019 or even 2020.
There is usually about a five year gap between the release dates of GTA versions, and perhaps all the rumors about new content are about the making of GTA 6, assuming that it wants to be released by 2018. As it stands, GTA 5 could just be given a whole bunch of new DLC to keep the players happy, and then Rockstar could release GTA 6 when the Xbox Two (presumed name of the next-gen Xbox) and the PlayStation 5 become widely available.
