Players of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) V know that the actual release date of GTA V Online Heists downloadable content (DLC) is still yet to be officially revealed. We have previously reported the possibility of one on February 24th, but Rockstar is doing a lot of interesting news updates for GTA V which seem to give light on the release date being very soon.
At the beginning of this month, Rockstar reported a planned a six-hour shutdown of its game servers on February 3rd, according to the International Business Times. It is pretty clear that the shutdown was to test how Heists will perform, and the long-awaited DLC has been delayed due to the developers wanting to be certain that there are no bugs within the system on the Heists DLC. Rockstar Games has done similar six-hour maintenance work before the release of The Last Team Standing DLC.
Last weekend, from February 6 to the 8th, Rockstar Games hosted an in-game event that gave players the chance to earn RP twice as fast. Fans enjoyed double the payout with a new playlist featuring a selection of 5 jobs to try out from this week's verified selections, according to Express. These missions included Bahama West Mama Mia, Border War, Close Quarters LTS, Contend: Zombie Town, and San Andreas Shootout LTS.
It is possible that Rockstar offered the limited time deal last weekend just to see how players would respond, and see what their servers would have to deal with.
The DLC Heists update for GTA V will be free for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, Sony PlayStation 4, as well as the PC version. We have also previously reported that DLC Heists is supposed to come out before the PC version is to be released, and that PC release date is around the end of March. DomisLive has had a lot to say about leaks on the Heists missions:
Prison Van Rescue CnC
The CnC stands for Cops and Crooks, and this involves crooks stealing a news van in order to reach a fellow gang member. Once the gang member is in the van, the Cops will come out, and you will have to lose them before getting back to the gang house.
Hostage Deal CnC Mission
As the name implies, it is about recovering a hostage from a gang. In this case, you are trying to get a hostage from an NPC (nonplayable character) gang as players move this hostage to a new safe house. There are even players that act as cops to stop the biker gang.
Weapons Deal CnC Mission and Stealing Artifacts from the Military Base
In this mission, you have to track down a criminal who is hiding out, and deliver him to the cops. In exchange, the crooked cops will exchange some weapons for some cash. Speaking of weapons, the "stealing artifacts from the military base" has a mission description of "Vikings gang members have to steal an artifact from the military base while cops are required to secure the item and bring it back to the army base".
Ornate Bank and Country Bank Heist
There are two bank robbery capers that players can get involved in. The Ornate Bank Heist involves breaking through a bank counter, unlocking a tough vault, and dropping off the money at a secure location. The Country Bank Heist involves robbing a rural bank, get the cashier to open the vault, and getting to the safe house. Both of these missions allow 16 cops and 4 criminals for participation.
It should be noted that DomisLive had had his YouTube channel taken down due to policy violations, but is still considered quite a good source for GTA V developments.
Grand Theft Auto V can be purchased now for the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and PS3, and the DLC Online Heists updates should be available sometime before the end of March 2015.
