The iMac from Apple has always been an iconic piece of technological wizardry, and it was one of those releases that helped to pull Apple from its quagmire more than a decade ago to the rejuvenated corporate behemoth that it is today. Well, it seems that the creative computer market is about to be met by the iMac 2016 -- if rumors that keep on flying around prove to be correct.
Obviously, the iMac 2016 has been on the rumor mill for some time already, where there has been plenty of speculation about the hardware that it carries in addition to the kinds of different features which would clearly put it heads and shoulders above the other regular desktops that are in the market. There are hushed whispers of a 5K resolution display to keep the iMac 2016 relevant not only for this year, but in the years to come, where it will be powered by Intel's family of Kaby Lake processors. Of course, such specifications are certainly drool-worthy, and you would be able to see why folks are getting excited about the upcoming computer.
One must also remember that Apple did make an announcement concerning the confirmed demise of the Thunderbolt Display, not to mention Apple being involved in the creation of the 27-inch UltraFine 5K monitor alongside LG. Certainly all of these moves by Apple have raised eyebrows as well as questions, and more importantly, will the iMac 2016 arrives with 5K resolution as well?
Originally rumored to arrive this Fall, it looks like that rumor ran out of gas as it was the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus instead that made the release cut, accompanied by the Apple Watch Series 2. The new range of MacBooks also made their debut last month, and it is now the middle of November without a single iMac in sight.
Could all of this be done on purpose just to make sure that more people will hop aboard the iMac 2016 hype train in due time? If that is the case, then it is certainly an effective marketing strategy. We are certainly keeping our fingers crossed that it is not a situation on the other extreme, where there is no work being done to release the iMac 2016 anytime soon, which might eventually be known as the iMac 2017 as December 2016 bids goodbye to welcome in January 2017.
Interestingly enough, Intel has slated their Kaby Lake processors to be released next year, which would then be a pretty clear indicator that the new iMac 2017 will also ship right after that, or perhaps at the same time. It is pretty difficult to separate the Intel Kaby Lake processor from the new and upcoming iMac model based on what we have heard so far.
Well, we strongly believe that it is far better to take an adequate amount of time in making sure that a particular product is well thought up and developed before hitting the manufacturing lines. After all, not too many companies are able to afford the kind of Galaxy Note 7 exploding incident that resulted in cessation of all manufacturing of the device.
