Those that wish to jailbreak their iPhone, iPad, iPad Mini, or 5th Generation of iPod Touch in order to remove Apple's software restrictions will find that they are presently blocked at a certain level of iOS. At this present time, Apple is winning the jailbreak wars for anything above iOS 9.0.2, but there are rumors that iOS 9.2 and the coming iOS 9.3 are jailbroken. The iOS 9.0 jailbreak took the world by surprise, and iOS 9.0.2 has also been jailbroken. For those that are in with iOS 9.1, 9.2, or 9.2.1 will find that jailbreaking is currently impossible. However, just like with the jailbreak of iOS 9.0, someone is going to find the vulnerabilities within Apple's iOS and make it jailbreak-able. The question is what version of iOS will get it first?
Some are looking at iOS 9.2 as the point where jailbreaking can finally happen, according to Gotta Be Mobile. It has been expected for weeks, and at this point, it could be that this is the iOS that won't be jailbroken for quite a while.
There is a video showing some developer Luca Todesco running an iOS 9.2 jailbreak on his iPhone, and so far, the video hasn't been proved a fake. It is difficult to pull a fake video on the jailbreaking community without being called out on it. So at this point, the jailbreak of iOS 9.2 could arrive any day now.
However, this leaves iOS 9.2.1, which could also be left out. Not all iOS versions have been successfully jailbroken, and sometimes these don't stick around long. At this point, it is possible to downgrade from iOS 9.2.1 to iOS 9.2, and those that want to jailbreak their phones
According to Neurogadget, the iOS 9.3 Jailbreak is to be released before the end of February. We have already mentioned hacker Luca Todesco breaking iOS 9.2, and he has reportedly broken iOS 9.3 while still in beta, but not releasing the findings online. This man also was able to jailbreak the iOS 9.1, 9.2.1, as well as the version 8.4.1, but never released his code to the public for some reason.
The third beta of this update was made available to registered developers and there are rumors saying that two teams of hackers will wait until the iOS 9.3 update gets released, and then bring the jailbreak a day or two later. In fact, there is an independent developer named enMTW who teased an iOS 9.3 jailbreak, according to a separate article from Gotta Be Mobile.
Yes, this is just a rumor, but there is a possibility that famed jailbreakers Pangu and TaiG have also figured out how to jailbreak iOS 9.3, and they are biding their time to make certain that they accounted for everything. In other words, that jailbreaking for iOS 9.3 is coming soon, and might be available just after iOS 9.3 is ready. That, or it will show up on iOS 9.2 first.
