As a tradition, the release of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus recently have already made many ponder when iPhone 7 will be released and what changes would be made to make this "the best iPhone yet." It has never been too early for Apple fans to anticipate the next iPhone features and specs. Here is a roundup of the iPhone 7 rumors to date.

According to Macworld UK, iPhone 7 is likely to have wireless charging as well as a touchscreen with built in-Touch ID as its newest features. There is also a high chance that the upcoming phone would do away with a headphone port and have self-healing ports instead. With this kind of port, the phone may well be waterproof.

Like its current releases, Macworld UK reports that Apple may release two phones at the same time, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in September 2016. The 7 might still be a 4.7-inch phone and the 7 Plus, a 5.5-inch model. iPhone 6s has been launched in September 2015 and known for its consistency; Apple just might release the iPhone 7 September of next year.

Fans have come to expect Apple to alternate between internal upgrades for the "S" update then a physical redesign for the "full-number" update, so the next one is likely to have a redesigned chassis if Apple remains consistent.

When it comes to the design, while it is still too early to tell, Macworld reports that Apple is likely to make the iPhone 7 and 7s look markedly different from the current lineups - definitely thinner, which is the trend for most smartphones right now. To do this, Apple has to remove the headphone jack so users need to listen to music using wireless Bluetooth headphones or headphones that would connect through the Lightning port instead.

Naturally, users can expect a better battery performance. Fans would be disappointed if the battery would not perform much better than the previous lineup. One pet peeve of smartphone users is losing battery power in the middle of the day. Although the 6s and 6s Plus already have decent battery performance, users would not resist better battery performance.

The display might be better than the current "Retina" display, even though nobody can find fault with the display to date. However, Apple just might be able to find a way to improve the 401 pixels per inch of the iPhone 6 Plus and 6Plus in a year's time.  When it comes to storage, Apple might also find it illogical to retain the 16GB option and make 32GB it's lowest storage offering. In this time and age, when everyone rely on their phones for almost everything in their lives, 16GB just is not going to cut it anymore.

CNET also put forward that there is a chance that for iPhone 7 to deliver improved speed, an A10 chip would be powering the new generation of iPhones. As for the camera, there is a chance that iPhone 7 would either have a 10-megapixel camera or a two-lens DSLR-style camera. One more interesting rumor reported by The Week UK is that the new iPhone lineup might not have a home button anymore.

It remains to be seen if these rumors would be true, but is something to ponder about for those wondering whether they should buy the 6S/6S Plus now.
