Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have been one of the most widely talked about couples in Hollywood today. Apart from the level of fame and popularity of the young stars, the explosive chemistry of Jelena never fails to encourage fans to root for them. However, it looks like Bieber has serious competition for Gomez's affections.

Reports reveal that Niall Horan of the English boy band One Direction fame has his eyes on Gomez. Sources disclosed that both the Good For You singer and Harry Styles' bandmate are getting quite close in the past days. In fact, some insiders even shared that Horan and Gomez have been trekking the road to exclusive couplehood since they were reunited in parties as of late. Moreover, Horan has never made a secret of his crush on the former Disney star.

"Niall and Selena were seen kissing in the middle of the club, in front of everyone," shared an insider with Us Weekly. The source added, "They left together. She grabbed his arm on the way out and held onto it." The insider claimed to be present in the Jingle Ball concert in Los Angeles, where the One Direction and Gomez performed. The source went on to share, "Niall and Selena definitely seemed very close and like they were together. Niall got there first with his bodyguard, then the next thing I know, I looked over and Selena was there. They were very close together, talking and whispering."

For his part, Bieber appears to react to the Horan-Gomez romance rumors by posting throwback pictures of himself with his former girlfriend. To date, the What Do You Mean singer already posted two old photos of him and Gomez. While Bieber provided no explanation for these Instagram posts, fans are quick to speculate that he is trying to win back the former Disney star.

"Justin is absolutely floored that Selena and Niall were seen kissing each other," revealed a source to Hollywood Life. The insider added, "He and Selena didn't have a commitment to one another, but it still shocked him to learn that she got close to another guy in such a public setting in front of everyone."

Adding to the shock is the fact that Bieber never thought of Horan as competition. The source shared, "Justin never really thought of Niall as a threat either, because Selena wasn't that taken by him in the past. But still, he can't expect Selena to be at his beck and call. If she's looking for a serious relationship, Justin isn't really the person to give that to her at the moment."
