Justin Bieber is truly a reformed artist. Once a poster boy for controversies, the singer is now entrusting his life to God.
With his career taking off again, Bieber is older and wiser. He said he does not trust anyone anymore like he trusts God. Speaking with GQ magazine, he said it's too difficult to rely everything on people."I've had people that burned me so many times," he said. "If we invest everything we have in a human, we're gonna get broken," he added.
Apart from being disappointed by people one too many times, the "Love Yourself" singer shared that he knows he would flail and fail if he relies only on himself. "I feel like that's why I have a relationship with Him, because I need it. I suck by myself. Like, when I'm by myself and I feel like I have nothing to lean on? Terrible. Terrible person. If I was doing this on my own, I would constantly be doing things that are, I mean, I still am doing things that are stupid, but... It just gives me some sort of hope and something to grasp onto, and a feeling of security, and a feeling of being wanted, and a feeling of being desired, and I feel like we can only get so much of that from a human," he explained.
After all the controversies he went through, Bieber has enough of being negative. He said entrusting God with his life makes him happy. To dwell on negativity is akin to letting the "devil" win. He said the being negative is "exactly what the Devil wants. He wants us to not be happy. He wants us to, you know, not live the life that we can truly live."
Since last year, Bieber has been noticeably more vocal about his relationship with God. Recently, one of his Instagram posts became trending not because he was shirtless or doing something dope.
He posted a photograph of a daily devotional entitled "Jesus Calling."
Fans were quick to react with the majority of them really supportive at the direction the young singer is going. There were also those who think he is just playing it nice and not convinced of his sincerity.
Last year, he told Complex magazine that he was striving to be more introspective, savvy, and yet more straight edge. He said that although he is not going to force his beliefs on anyone, he wants to live like Jesus nonetheless.
