The much-awaited device from LG Inc. could be out the in the market at the first quarter of 2016. Online reports stated that LG G5 would be unveiled in the upcoming Mobile World Congress, which will take place from February 22 - February 25, 2016. There are also rumors the say that the device could be found in CES 2016. Nevertheless, the latest phone from LG will be launched next year.
The fifth generation of LG G series is believed to be a strong rival for Samsung's Galaxy G7. In the last couple of years, LG topped the selling charts and managed to propel behind Samsung-- the company's Korean sibling-come-rival.
For the specs of LG G5, reports said that it will boast a 5.6-inch QHD display and a metallic body rather than the optional leather-based one. The phone will also have a 20/21MP camera with a large 1/2" sensor size. The rumors also reinstate the previously suggested biometric security suite, including both a fingerprint scanner and an iris scanner.
LG G5 is reported to have a screen resolution around 3840 x 2160, meaning it's a 4K display. Tech experts said 2016 will be the year that 4k display becomes the norm, with virtually all high-end smartphones having the ability to shoot 4K video and many TV sets now supporting 4K natively.
One of the interesting additions of LG G5 is its biometric sensors. According to Alphr, the fifth generation of G-series could be one of the most secure smartphones ever released. However, rather than using a fingerprint scanner like the iPhone 6s and Samsung Galaxy S6, the LG G5 may scan user's eyes.
LG Inc. is reportedly collaborating with IRIENCE, a tech company that specializes in eye-scanning technology. IRIENCE is believed to provide the toughest security feature of the phone. The said scanner can verify phone user's eye at a distance of about 50cm.
As for the price of LG G5, Latinos posted that estimates show the phone could be priced at $900USD.
Meanwhile, Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for LG G4 could be out very soon. Android Pit published that Android M update for LG phone is currently in "rolling out" status.
LG phone users can verify if their device is part of Android M rollout by using LG Bridge, the company's PC sync software.
