While New York City has its Ball Drop at Times Square, London, England has its version as well.  The New Year is welcomed in by the annual Mayor of London's firework display on the stroke of midnight.  Like the event in NYC, it attracts thousands of revelers to the capital of the United Kingdom.  This is London England New Year's Eve Fireworks Best Places to Watch, How to Watch Online, Livestreaming, and TV Schedule.

According to New Years Eve Live, the 2015 fireworks lasted 11 minutes, and they will again take place on the Thames around the London Eye.  Anywhere along the river should provide a decent view, and many like to take a cruise on the River Thames to get one of the best views.  Other places that won't charge for a ticket include The Southbank, Westminster Bridge and Victoria Embankment, Greenwich Hill, Primrose Hill, and any one of several London rooftop bars.

According to The Express, Bryan Adams is going to perform on New Year's Eve night at Big Ben right before the fireworks light up, and a complete TV Schedule can be found here as well.  The fireworks are always quite a sight as the London EYE gets involved and starts shooting some major pyrotechnics.

This year, it will be slightly different as there is a threat level of sever within the country, according to the International Business Times.  There is going to be an "increased search regime so we would ask people who have tickets for the fireworks event to come in plenty of time".  Yes, there are tickets being sold for this event, and the 100,000 sold in 2015 were 10 pounds each.

In addition to the threat level, The Independent reports that there will be work done on Network Rail, with "one of the biggest Christmas and New Year investment programmes ever carried out on Britain's rail network".  There is also Storm Frank, which is affecting the North, flooding railway lines and falling trees.

This year might be a good year to watch the event from home.  For those that want to stay at home, or are too far away to watch the event, there are options for Livestreaming, and here is how to watch it online.  There is usually coverage of the midnight fireworks on the BBC News Channel, if you are in the UK, it can be watched here.  There are also some London webcams that should give a good view.

Don't forget that in addition to the celebration on New Year's Eve, there is also the London New Year's Day Parade (LNYDP), which will happen on January 1, 2016 from 11:45 AM to 3:15 PM.  There's information on that as well as LiveStreaming here
