The Punisher has Daredevil at gunpoint Marvel/Netflix/Entertainment Weekly

Marvel and Netflix took a big risk as they green-lit four shows with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, and then planned to tie them all together with The Defenders.  There has been a lot more information about Daredevil Season 2 as it is coming soon, but very little about Jessica Jones Season 2, Luke Cage, and the mysterious Iron Fist

A recent report on The Collider has shown that Entertainment Weekly has reported a lot about Marvel's Cinematic Universe.  One of them is a shot from Season 2 of Daredevil, which has been shooting for a while now.

Information has leaked out that Frank Castle, or The Punisher, will be the main villain of the season.  Unlike Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) from Season 1, The Punisher is not a crimelord who is trying to take over the city.  In fact, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) is more antihero than a villain, taking to the street clad with a skull emblazoned on his chest to shoot and kill the criminals.

This isn't too different from what Matt Murdock (Daredevil's real name, played by Charlie Cox) does, but the Man Without Fear does not use lethal force.  It is very clear that these two characters might be on the same side of the law, but their differences are going to make them enemies.

In addition to that, Elodie Yung will be playing Elektra, a love interest for Matt that is plucked right out of the comics.  Elektra also has some questionable crime-fighting methods, and it is going to be interesting to see how Matt is going to deal with this.  Also, Matt's mentor Stick (Scott Glenn) reappears, and so it looks like the focus for Season 2 is the decisions that Matt will make to fight crime.  Daredevil has to fight against the darkness, but his allies bring in a lot of gray areas.

Daredevil Season 2 will appear in the Spring 2016.  It will be interesting to see how it ties into Jessica Jones, as the successful Season 1 introduced a villain who could take control of people's minds.  One can imagine that there would be a lot of legal cases as a result of that, and perhaps Matt, Foggy (Elden Henson), and Karen (Deborah Ann Woll) will be dealing with them.

It could be a while before Jessica Jones is seen again, but the character of Luke Cage was introduced on the show.  Luke Cage (Mike Colter) is slated to have his own show, but there is absolutely no reason that Luke Cage could not appear on Daredevil.  Even a brief appearance, like how the "Night Nurse" Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) showed up on both Daredevil and Jessica Jones

So Luke Cage will probably be out in 2016.  Iron Fist, a show that barely has any information about it, will premiere sometime after that, and considering that Luke Cage and Iron Fist used to work together as partners in the comics, it just makes sense to introduce Iron Fist on Luke Cage

Either way, something has to bring all these characters together for The Defenders, and that could arrive in 2017 at the earliest.
