Those that love e-sports already know that MLB The Show 16 is due out this Tuesday, and there should be a lot to love about this season's version of the popular baseball simulation game. This is what is known about MLB The Show 16, including the two special versions like the MVP Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition, along with the release date, price, and new features.
You should be able to purchase MLB The Show 16 on its release date of March 29th for the PS4 for the PS3. There will not be an Xbox version of the game, not even for the Xbox One or Xbox 360, and yes, it is a strange platform choice.
The release time will be 12 AM Eastern on March 29, and purchasing the game digitally on the PlayStation Store allows for pre-loading the game to play right at midnight, meaning other players in different time zones will be playing at the same but different times, such as 9 PM in Pacific time. Players should know that the game takes up 38.3 GB, so you should probably make certain that your hard drive has enough room.
For those that want to attend Midnight Release Parties for the release date of MLB The Show 16, this quite possible. Gotta Be Mobile reports that GameStop and Best Buy had midnight release date events, so it is possible that retail outlets like that will have similar events this year.
The game comes in three different versions, the first being the base version which is $59.99.
As for the MLB The Show 16 MVP Edition, it is $69.99, but it has $135 of added content including 5,000 Stubs ($5.00), 1 Sponsor Pack ($5.00), 10 Standard Packs ($10.00), 31 PS4 Avatars ($31.00), and 1 Opening Day Pack ($25.00).
The MLB The Show 16 Digital Deluxe Edition is $99.99 with $200 in extras, available only that the PlayStation Store. Included within this package is 11,000 Stubs ($10.00), a Sponsor Pack ($5.00), 20 Standard Packs ($20.00), 31 PS4 Avatars ($31.00), and 3 Opening Day Packs ($75.00).
As far as what to expect for the new features from MLB The Show 16, it is safe to say that graphical improvements will be arriving. There is a video from Game Informer that highlights the new Road to the Show features like Advance Day mode to play a full series of Road to the Show games without going back to the main menu. There will also be a Franchise Play that allows some interesting new equipment, legends, and gameplay for MLB The Show 16.
