Mortal Kombat XL just released earlier this month, but many fans are asking if there are more DLCs for the Mortal Kombat game. The Kombat 1 and Kombat 2 added a total of eight new characters, countless skins, classic fatalities and a new trophy/achievement set. Will NetherRealm grant the request of its avid fans?

Here's the latest update about Mortal Kombat X release date and new characters for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The news about the possibility of more DLC in the future came from Game Developer Ed Boon's Twitter account.  When a fan asked Boon to "continue supporting 'Mortal Kombat X' by adding more DLC," the developer replied with "MKXXL" and a winking emoticon. Some gamers speculate this means NetherRealm could release more DLC for the game. However, the answer could be a reference to "Mortal Kombat XL" version of the game.

Mortal Kombat XL is the same Mortal Kombat X that released last year, with additional new fighters and character skins.

Those who patiently waited for the "Game of the Year Edition" can get Mortal Kombat XL for $60 and have both Kombat Pack 1 and 2 together with the full edition of the game. For those who already have the main game, but didn't purchase either Kombat Pack, they can purchase the Kombat Pack XL for $25. Also, those who bought Kombat Pack 1 can get Kombat Pack 2 for $20.

Gamers can also buy the new characters a-la-carte for $5 each. The Kombat 1 was released last year and added Jason Voorhees, Predator, Tanya, and Tremor in the game. NetherRealm also considered Terminator and Michael Myers as additional characters, but it did not happen.

The characters included in the Kombat Pack 2 are Leatherface, Alien, Bo' Rai Cho and Triborg.

One of the most impressive additions in the game is Xenomorph from Alien. The game developer went to an extra mile to making the character's fifth limb. The tail is not there for decoration, but it is an integral part of Alien's combos. The creature's X-Ray move is pretty brutal, in which opponents suffer from multiple stabs.

Meanwhile, it is important to note that Mortal Kombat XL and Kombat Pack 2 are not playable in PC. NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. decided to stop supporting Mortal Kombat X on PC, and focus on PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

Mortal Kombat X hit the gaming shelves in April 2015 with versions in Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It has sold more than 5 million copies around the world. In a review from Hardcore Gamer, the game scored 4/5.
