The Chicago Bulls need a lot of practice and backup plans as the NBA team enter the regular season with quite a number of injured basketball stars in its roster. Among the NBA players in the Chicago Bulls locker room who have suffered injuries prior to the regular season, however, the issues that ail Derrick Rose are garnering the most concern in the minds of the fans and followers of the team.

Since getting the privilege of becoming the first round pick of the Chicago Bulls in 2008, Derrick Rose has been one of the most prized NBA stars in the basketball community. However, it looks like the injuries that keep cropping up in the life of the legendary Derrick Rose are not stopping anytime soon. In fact, the 2012 knee injury he incurred, wherein Derrick Rose needed to sit out a number of Chicago Bulls games in an effort to protect his physical wellbeing, is deemed to be the start of his downfall - a piece of information that has yet to be proven false by the star. In what could be described as yet another addition to the list of injuries suffered by Derrick Rose, the Chicago Bulls star fractured the orbital bone in his left eye weeks before the upcoming NBA regular season.

While this news earned headshakes and disappointment from some fans and followers of the Chicago Bulls, it looks like head coach Fred Hoiberg remains optimistic on the return of Derrick Rose this NBA season.

"They have advised him to continue to let that sight heal and they think the best way for him to do that is to stay home at this time," disclosed Fred Hoiberg, referring to the health status of Derrick Rose and the possible return of the Chicago Bulls star to the hardwood court, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The Chicago Bulls head coach went on to say, "They don't want him really doing much of anything except walking, getting a lot of rest and not doing anything where he could dilate his blood vessels. After those two weeks, he should be able to resume full activity." Although the specific time and date for the return of Derrick Rose is yet to be set, it appears that the fans and followers of the Chicago Bulls need not fret for long. In the recently started practices of the Chicago Bulls, one player has proven his capacity to fill in the shoes of Derrick Rose and possibly even lead the NBA team to the championship this season: Jimmy Butler.

Chicago Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg himself noted that the NBA team now looks up to Jimmy Butler as the leader of the group. The head coach shared via NBA.com, "I knew Jimmy was good." Fred Hoiberg added, "But he's been awesome. He's so strong right now. He's in great shape, another guy where the amount of work he put in in the summer is paying off. He's probably in the best shape of anybody out here. He's all over the floor, offensively, defensively. There aren't a lot of two-way players in this league, but Jimmy is definitely one of them. Jimmy was phenomenal. All the hard work he put in this offseason you can tell. He added new elements to his game. He was terrific."
