The drama between the Phoenix Suns and Markieff Morris, which unfolded throughout the NBA offseason, appears to be heading to a close as both parties attempt to make amends prior to the start of the basketball season. With the change of heart of Markieff Morris in terms of his allegiance and desire to be with the Phoenix Suns this season, the rumors regarding his potential trade to other NBA teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers have now been laid to rest.

"I want to be here," said Markieff Morris, referring to his place in the Phoenix Suns roster, according to ESPN. He went on to say, "I don't really want to talk about what happened this summer. I just really want to look forward to this up and coming season and glad to be back with my teammates, glad to be back with my team."

It could be recalled that the Phoenix Suns and Markieff Morris almost had a falling out during the NBA offseason. It began when Marcus Morris, the twin brother of Markieff Morris, was traded by the Phoenix Suns to the Detroit Pistons. While such arrangement is not unique to the Phoenix Suns and the Detroit Pistons, the manner by which the deal was executed got the goat of the Morris twins. According to the two, the Phoenix Suns did not bother to inform them of the impending trade. To make matters worse, they only became privy to the agreement after the contract has been finalized. This, according to Markieff Morris, was a complete disrespect for him and his brother - a fact that he clearly proclaimed throughout the NBA offseason.

"The summer hasn't gone how we hoped it would in regards to him," said Phoenix Suns general manager Ryan McDonough, referring to the debacle involving Markieff Morris, in an interview with Arizona Sports. He went on to say, "I'm certain it hasn't gone how he wanted it to go in terms of the situation with trading Marcus to Detroit, but it is what it is. We'll see him on Monday, if not sooner. We fully expect him to come to camp and be a full-participant and be the productive, effective player he has been for the past couple of years since Coach (Jeff) Hornacek and I have been in Phoenix."

The twin brother of Markieff Morris, Marcus Morris, was first drafted by the Houston Rockets in 2011. In the game against the Philadelphia 76ers in January, two pairs of brothers were seen in the Phoenix Suns roster: Marcus and Markieff Morris and Goran and Zoran Dragic.
