NBA Rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving Back In Action; Iman Shumpert Eyes Return With LeBron James Squad

The Cleveland Cavaliers ended the previous NBA season with a heartbreaking loss to the Golden State Warriors. Hence, it came as no surprise when the LeBron James squad ceaselessly discussed the ways they would be avenging themselves against the Stephen Curry team. It appears, however, that some things are easier said than done. The Cleveland Cavaliers are currently holding a 13-5 record while the Golden State Warriors remain undefeated at 19-0.

In earlier interviews, LeBron pointed out that the healthy roster of the Klay Thompson team is one of the significant factors in the latter's unblemished record. At the moment, the Cleveland Cavaliers are missing two of its biggest stars: Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert. Needless to say, the absence of these NBA stars cost the team some games. However, it looks like things might be turning around for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Reports disclose that Shumpert and Irving are making headway in their rehabilitation sessions, and the two could join the Tristan Thompson squad soon.

"We had a moderated practice that we were able to get them to take part in a good piece of it," revealed David Blatt, referring to the increased participation of Shumpert and Irving in the practices, according to CBS Local Cleveland. The Cleveland Cavaliers head coach added, "Day-to-day, making a little bit more progress."

Despite the positive news, Blatt is still wary of providing any definite dates on when the NBA stars will be back in action. He said, "I really can't say. Every day I'm watching them and they're making progress. We're being very conscious and conscientious about keeping them within their limits and not rushing them back. But they are both working hard and well and they are making progress. Exactly when they're going to return, I just can't say because I don't know. Not yet."

With the uncertainty of a fixed date to expect Shumpert and Irving, Blatt admitted that the basketball stars themselves are restless and excited to help the Cleveland Cavaliers in their games.

"He's really champing at the bit," shared Blatt of Shumpert, according to ESPN. He went on to say, "He wants to get back out there, to the point where we have to hold literally him back. It's impressed me that from Day 1 he has been so conscientious and so motivated in terms of not only his rehab, but maintaining the great condition that he had coming into the preseason. He had worked very, very hard this summer, and he's maintained that. And of course, he's rehabilitated it in the best possible way."
