Nintendo has stumbled into a success with its NES Classic Edition. The overwhelming reception for the console must have come as a surprise even to the company, with the console almost being sold out everywhere.

NES Classic Edition Features and Price

NES Classic Edition sells for only $59.99, which is a real steal since it allows players access to 30 of the best retro games ever. The games include classics like Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Donkey Kong, and Pac-Man. It basically offers the best games of Nintendo on a new version of an old system. Now, the console is the must-have purchase this holiday. It helps a lot that the price is quite low. With the console being sold out in many places, some people are trying to sell it online for a profit.

There are several reasons why the NES Classic Edition is so well received. It's about the nostalgia, the low price, and the unique concept of offering a classic product. A dedicated box that is portable and selling for only $60 is the exact thing that a lot of video game fans are looking for. Fans who love to get a new console but are unwilling to spend more than $250 for are excited about this.

A Future Nintendo Strategy

Observers expect that Nintendo would be taking notes right now and would follow the same strategy in the years to come for the holiday season. Since the NES Classic Edition is such a huge success that it would be a sure thing that the Mini SNES would come next.

If Nintendo does the right thing, they could potentially have a smash hit product every holiday season. Even if the Nintendo Switch is released in the coming months, it would not be eating away from the sales of the NES Classic Edition or any other new version of a classic console that Nintendo might release in the future.

Customers would not be choosing the Nintendo Switch over the NES Classic Edition or any other micro-console that Nintendo might release. The main thing about the offering is the low price. It just seems right that Nintendo tries to cash in on their catalog, which is a virtual gold mine. The company can potentially raise the prices of any future micro-console that might release in the future. Nintendo can even raise the price to up to $60 and people would still be ready to buy it.
