When we last reported on the next Democratic debate, there was doubt whether it would be happening either on February 4th or the 11th. It is now official that it will be on February 4th, in New Hampshire ahead of the first-in-the-nation primary. The decision was only reached this week, and this is everything that is known about the Next Democratic Debate 2016 Live Stream, Start Time, TV Channel, Preview on CNN with Anderson Cooper: Watch Online Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Martin O'Malley.
Variety reports that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is sanctioning the debate amid pressure from voters and the candidates, and the DNC is apparently in the process of putting more debates in the lineup with the agreement of the candidates. In fact, earlier this week, the campaigns of Clinton and Sanders agreed to four more debates.
Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Martin O'Malley are expected to attend. Sanders and O-Malley have slammed the DNC for the lack of debates, compared to the many debates that the GOP candidates have (the Republicans have three in the month of February, with the next taking place two days after this planned Democrat debate). The two candidates also have not liked the way the DNC has been scheduling the debates around the weekend time, when they will be watched by fewer viewers.
The debate will be broadcast on MSNBC at 9 PM Eastern Time, and it will be hosted by Chuck Todd and Rachel Maddow. The event itself will be taking place at the University of New Hampshire in Durham. Those that want to Livestream the event can go to a YouTube site that will broadcast it at that time, and MSNBC will probably have it going live on their website as well, being that live streams of the debates are a big draw for audiences.
The New York Times has said that the previously scheduled debates on February 11th and March 9th will go on as planned. CNN has announced separately the Democratic candidates would participate in a town-hall style forum in Derry, NH on Wednesday, a day before the planned debate. The three candidates will field questions from voters, with Anderson Cooper moderating the three-hour event that begins at 8 PM Eastern Time. Those that want to live stream or watch that event online should check on CNN.
The next Republican Debate on February 6th will air on ABC and will take place at St. Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire at 8 PM Eastern Time. The next debate will take place on Saturday, February 13 at The Peace Center in Greenville, South Carolina, and will air on CBS News, moderated by John Dickerson. The next Republican debate will take place on Thursday, February 25 at the University of Houston, and will air on CNN and Telemundo. As for the Democratic timeline, it would not be surprising if another debate was scheduled in between February 11 and March 9.
