The rumored Nexus 7 2016 was not present during the recently concluded I/O event. However, latest reports suggest that it may come during the fourth quarter of the year. Now, here's what is currently known about Nexus 2016 release date, specs and price.

Fans are expecting for Google to reveal the updated Nexus 7 tablet this month, but the company did not make any announcements about it. Rumors say that it will be released anytime soon after I/O developer's conference. However, the absence of the tablet during the tech conference shows that its launching might be postponed to a later date this year.

The upcoming Google Nexus tablet is expected to be in the market during the fourth quarter of 2016. According to The BitBag, the Mountain View-based tech company has been releasing most of Google Nexus products during the month of October. Moreover, it is said that the tech company will follow the pattern and will release the device immediately.

As for its specs, the upcoming tablet will provide a 7-inch display with a Quad High Definition screen resolution. Several tech sites reported that the tablet will arrive in two models: one with 32 GB internal storage and another with 64 GB. Both of them will have 4 GB of RAM.

Furthermore, Nexus 7 2016 is rumored to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor or Snapdragon 820 processor. The Snapdragon 820 processor might be capable in handling the new features of upcoming Android N that is expected to arrive this fall. However, Snapdragon 625 processor will maintain the tablet's fair price tag.

The upcoming device is also expected to utilize a QHD technology that will offer a display of 1080 pixels. Industry experts say it will help the tablet to compete with the mini variant of the Galaxy Tab and Apple iPad.

The tablet will also have several features of the Google mobile OS such as floating app windows and split screen. Doze, an app that improves battery life, might also be included to increase the tablet's productivity.

As for its price, the upcoming Nexus 7 is expected to cost around $400.

To recall, the previous versions of Nexus 7 tablets were made by Asus. For the updated version, International Business Times reported that Google is considering HTC or Huawei. The latter is being speculated to be working on two new Google devices. Interestingly, Huawei filed a trademark for the Huawei 7P, but there is still no announcement from the tech company about this rumor.
