NFL Rumors: Dallas Cowboys Lose Hope on Tony Romo; Dez Bryant, Greg Hardy Let Go of QB

The Dallas Cowboys finally have to face reality: this is the end of the line for prized NFL star Tony Romo. Examining the quarterback's latest injury, medical experts ruled out any possibility of seeing Romo back in the field this season. Dez Bryant, Greg Hardy and the rest of their football squad watched as their mighty leader fall and re-injure himself in the match against the Carolina Panthers. Romo was carted out of the field by the third quarter along with the chance of the Dallas Cowboys to break the winning streak of the Cam Newton team. The match ended with the Carolina Panthers still undefeated with the final score of 33-14.

The fall of Romo in the said game saw some fans outraged over Jerry Jones' decision to allow the quarterback in the field. However, the Dallas Cowboys owner seemed unfazed by the criticisms and pointed out that the sports world requires sacrifices from the players. Moreover, Jones feels that the risking Romo's health had been worth it.

"I don't think push is the word for it," said Jones in an official interview following the match against the Carolina Panthers. He added, "We felt the risk was worth the potential for having him be the impact he can be and really having a fairytale turnaround and doing something that was special. And to me, that's what we're about, that's what sports is about. You shouldn't ever quit trying to do something extraordinary."

As for Romo himself, the Dallas Cowboys star admitted that he was aware of the potential consequences of his actions. He said via Fox Sports, "I knew the risk I was running. I chose that, but I needed be out there with my teammates."

Although the determination and passion of the injured NFL star earned the respect of his fans and followers, Romo appears to be beside himself with disappointment. According to the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, his failure to be with his football squad this season is weighing heavily on him. Moreover, Romo blames himself for the many things that went wrong during their match against the undefeated Carolina Panthers.

"There are so many subtle things that come up when you see different things, and you just have to get there," he noted via ESPN. "I wasn't quite there yet. It was going to take a little bit of time. You hope you can win games until you get that back, but it's just disappointing I wasn't able to do that and played poorly today. I put our team in a hole. That was the difference in the ballgame." 

Romo went on to lament, "I didn't give us a chance, and for however long I'm going to sit and live with that, and that will eat at me."

The injury of Romo, which has him out for the entire NFL season, will see backup quarterback Matt Cassel take over from this day forward.
