Although the Dallas Cowboys are starting to have a great season so far, the team still can't get away from the injuries plaguing its roster. The latest member of the Dallas franchise to get injured is wide receiver Dez Bryant.

Bryant has been absent for the last two weeks after suffering a hairline fracture at Week 3 during a game against the Chicago Bears. Due to his injury, he missed the last two games between the San Francisco 49ers and the Cincinnati Bengals.

But, recently, Bryant was spotted running the jogging routes before the game against the Bengals at Week 5. Although this offered Cowboys fans a glimmer of hope regarding his possible return, it seems Bryant will be absent from the field for one more week. This means he will not be able to join the rest of the squad when they face off against the Green Bay Packers at Week 6.

The other bad news for the Dallas community is that this may not be the only upcoming game that he will miss. There's also a possibility that he might not yet be in the condition to play on Oct. 30 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

And, if things don't work out well for Bryant and the Cowboys in terms of his physical condition, he could get placed on the team's injured reserve list. Since Dallas' wide receiver bench is not that deep, the team might resort to bringing someone in from the practice squad, such as Vince Mayle or Andy Jones.

The Cowboys also have the option of looking over at the NFL free agency pool to get a suitable temporary replacement for Bryant. Although it's a bit hard to predict how the Cowboys might choose, one likely option is Richard Mullaney.

The Dallas organization picked up Mullaney in August of this year after he was waived by the Houston Texans. Then, a few weeks later, he was released by the Cowboys as part of the team's first waive of roster cuts during the offseason.

Mullaney is certainly not on the same level as Bryant but having someone on the roster who is familiar with the Cowboys' game plan will certainly be a good thing for the team.
