NFL Rumors: Denver Broncos Peyton Manning Addresses Retirement Plans, Shares Goals with Patriots' Tom Brady

The Denver Broncos had a difficult path towards the Super Bowl 50. The NFL season saw the football team struggle with bad calls, injuries and staff issues. However, it looks like the Denver Broncos are back on track as they go head to head against the remarkable Carolina Panthers for the Super Bowl 50.

While the NFL community focuses on the Cam Newton squad going against the Denver Broncos, quite some fans are speculating about something else: Peyton Manning's retirement.

The AFC Championship face-off between the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots, albeit a fascinating display of competitiveness and aggression, exhibited a more exciting situation. Manning was seen approaching Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Sources, later on, claimed that the Denver Broncos quarterback informed the New England Patriots star and coach that the Super Bowl 50 might be his "last rodeo."

The days that followed the encounter had been filled with speculations regarding the possible retirement of Manning. Some fans viewed the Denver Broncos' journey to the Super Bowl 50 as the quarterback's farewell tour - pretty much like the way the NBA and the Los Angeles Lakers handled the last season of Kobe Bryant.
Unlike the Black Mamba though, Manning remains coy about his retirement plans - that is he even truly intends to exit the NFL for good.

"That was not pre-planned," said Manning of the conversation with Brady and Belichick. It was a spontaneous reaction," Manning explained during the media day of the Super Bowl 50. The Denver Broncos quarterback added, "Sometimes you just want to tell someone something man to man -- it's better than via text or a handwritten letter or seeing them at a banquet."

Manning continued to share, "I told Brady the same thing, previously to telling Belichick. I understand there are people out there. But I understand this really could be it and I wanted to tell both of them I really have enjoyed these games. It's been a part of my football life. It's been good for me and not so good for me."

He added, "Hey, Brady's going to play until he's 70. Belichick's going to coach until he's 90. Maybe I'll hit the fountain of youth sometime in the month and we'll play 10 more championships against each other. But just in case we don't, I took the time to tell them man-to-man, looked them in the eye and shook their hands and I'm glad I did that because it's important to me they knew it."

The Super Bowl 50 is scheduled for February 7, 2016. The Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos will battle it out at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Coldplay, Bruno Mars and Beyonce are confirmed as the performers for the halftime.
