Ever since the start of the 2016 NFL season, fans of the Los Angeles Rams have been clamoring to see No. 1 overall draft pick Jared Goff on the field. However, according to sources, Goff will not be able to get playing time as a starting quarterback as long as the Rams still have a chance to make it to the playoffs.

When Goff was first drafted by the Rams, everyone assumed that he will be the team's new starting quarterback. However, through training routines and practice sessions, the team soon realized that the young athlete was still not ready to take on the No. 1 spot. Instead, he was pushed back as a backup between starter Case Keenum and third-stringer Sean Mannion.

Since Goff has failed to secure a starting spot, he has been labeled as a draft bust.

However, as the Rams go through the season, head coach Jeff Fisher noted that Goff has been improving, igniting the hope once again that the athlete will be given the chance at the starting spot.

Unfortunately for Goff, it seems the Los Angeles franchise has decided to take on a different route. Currently, the team is holding on to a record of 3 wins and 5 losses. At this point, the Rams still have a chance of making it to the playoffs if they manage to win their upcoming games.

Apparently, the team doesn't want to take their chances with rookie Goff by placing him at the No. 1 position. So, as long as the team still has a chance to play in the postseason, the team will stick to Keenum as their main passer.

"My understanding of the Rams quarterback situation is that they're not going to make a switch - barring some sort of epic collapse by Case Keenum - until they fall out of playoff contention," NFL insider Ian Rapoport said.

Based on Rapoport's statement, it seems the only way Goff will be able to play is if the Rams continue to loose until they get kicked out of the playoffs. This, of course, is not an ideal situation for any team in the league.
