Dragon Age: Origins. One of several free games available for January 2016 on PlayStation Plus. Bioware/EA

It should be known that the free games for the month of February 2016 have not been announced yet, and they probably won't be for a while.  However, there are some ways to possibly predict the free games for February 2016, and PlayStation Plus subscribers should be playing the free games available for January 2016 now.

There were rumors of Vote To Play is coming back for the PS4.  Vote to Play was pretty popular back in September, and it would have to begin very soon to vote for the game to play for the month of February 2016.  Nothing official has been announced, but PlayStation Plus promised that they were going to do Vote to Play a few times a year, so it is actually overdue for this last year of 2015.

Here are the games that are still available for the month of January 2016, according to the PlayStation blog:

For the PS3, there is Dragon Age: Origins.  This is BioWare and Electronic Art's super fantasy role-playing game that has been very successful, bringing about two sequels:  Dragon Age II and Dragon Age: Inquisition.  There has been a lot of DLC (downloadable content) and expansion packs for all versions of this game, so this is a good "jumping on" point for those that want to partake in this popular video game franchise.

Medal of Honor Warfighter is also available for the PS3.  This is another part of the Medal of Honor franchise, the fourteenth and final installment of this franchise, actually, with this final game being launched in 2012.  Sadly, the game did not succeed in the market, and EA actually ended the franchise here.  This would be a good time to see if EA made the right decision to end the first-person shooter game series.

For the PS4 and PS Vita, there is Grim Fandango Remastered.  This game is a role-playing "point and click" game based on the adventures of Manny Calavera in an afterlife that looks like something from the movie The Book of Life.  It has a film noir kind of look that takes place in the afterlife, where everyone is a skeleton and trying to get to their next stage of life.

The PS4 also has Hardware: Rivals.  This is a brand new game with vehicular combat that is a follow-up to a 2002 PlayStation 2 game known as Hardware: Online Arena

The PS Vita has Legends of War Patton, which spotlights the legendary general's campaign against the Nazis in World War II.  It is a turn-based strategy video game created in 2010.  Also available for the PS Vita is Nihilumbra, the game is described on the Steam Store as "Join Born on his adventure to find himself whilst trying to escape from his inevitable curse. Born was created from the absolute nothingness: The Void. But somehow he separates himself from the black emptiness and appears in the world."

These are all the games available for the PlayStation Plus subscribers for the month of January 2016 for free.  The free games for February 2016 will probably start to become available by the end of January 2016.
