What does November have in store for PlayStation Plus subscribers? If you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you would know by now that each month would give you access to a bunch of titles for free -- which is a direct benefit for signing up with the PlayStation Plus program. Of course, the kind of games made available for free are not triple AAA titles, as there will be duds from time to time, and it does seem to be entirely random for us gamers. After all, we do not have a say to vote for which games we would like to play for free, and you can bet your bottom dollar that these titles will most probably be aged ones -- it is all too rare that a relatively recent release would make an appearance on the free games list.
Well, without much further ado, here is the list of free PS Plus games that will be made available for the month of November 2016. Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture would be the first title available, where the talented developers over at The Chinese Room have managed to do a pretty decent job in delivering this title. If you have played Dear Esther before, then chances are you would know that Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture is the spiritual successor to that title. Thrown right smack into the middle of a small, deserted English town, players will be able to hunt down clues in order to uncover just what happened to the town -- everyone has gone missing. The soundtrack is also another aspect of the game that you would be able to enjoy.
Another free game for November would be The Deadly Tower of Monsters, letting you have the experience of playing through what might seem to be a sci-fi B-movie. Atlus and ACE team have worked together on this title, making it a cult classic that is worth revisiting this Halloween.
Do take note that Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture and The Deadly Tower of Monsters are PS4 only titles, while those who are still rocking to the previous generation PS3 will be able to enjoy Dirt 3 and Costume Quest 2. Of course, those titles can also be played on the PS4 because of backwards compatibility, letting you have your money’s worth.
PS Vita owners are not left out either, as they get to enjoy Letter Quest Remastered and Pumped BMX+, where the former has cross buy with PS4, while the latter will feature cross buy with PS4 and PS3.
At the end of the day, it looks like November’s pickings for PS Plus subscribers are nothing much to shout about. The eternal debate continues, where some PS owners are thinking of jumping ship to the Xbox One side, because they are not getting their money’s worth with the month PS Plus releases, where many of those games require in-game purchases which would mean forking out more money. On the other hand, it is not as though Xbox One owners are pleased with each month’s release of free games with the Xbox Live Gold subscription. To each his or her own, I guess.
