One of the most anticipated games of 2016 is Quantum Break, and the Game Awards 2015 had the time-traveling game on its list along with No Man's Sky and a few others.  In fact, the game has certain elements to it that really make it look unique, and it also has a digital series casted with well-known actors also helps sell its concept.  This is everything that is known about Quantum Break from Remedy Studios with its Release Date and News. 

The game is planned to debut on the Xbox One and it looks like the PC is also planned.  Softpedia reports that Aaron Greenberg, the leader of marketing for the game, wanted it to run just as good on the PC as it would a console.   Speaking of consoles, it doesn't look like the game will be released to the PS4. 

The story of Quantum Break is very deep and potentially quite complicated, as it will focus on time travel.  It starts with some kind of experiment gone wrong at a university, and this gives the protagonist Jack Joyce and antagonist Paul Serene special powers.  Like most time travel stories, there will be rules established of what happens if you go back in time and change something. 

The game is played from a third-person perspective using action adventure style mechanics as gamers move through their environments, solving puzzles, taking on challenges, and defeating enemies with special time traveling powers.  Jack Joyce has the power to stop time, which comes in handy for reversing bullets or other time warping effects to take out his enemies.  Unfortunately, with time going mad, the obstacles of the game increase. 

What makes Quantum Break different from most games is that it includes a live-action series included in the game produced by both Microsoft and Lifeboat Productions.  Remedy studios has told The Verge that  "the game is about the heroes and the show is about the villains".  They also added "how you play the game impacts the show, and the show informs how you play the game". 

The end of each game episode (there will be four episodes, about 22 minutes each), the player is presented with a choice that will affect the game and the series.  Considering how time travel stories are often about characters making choices in the past that have devastating consequences on future events, this could give the game a lot of replay potential. 

The series is expected to give a lot of backstory behind the game, and it will star Shawn Ashmore as Jack Joyce and Aidan Gillen as Paul Serene.  With a series included with the game, it certainly opens a lot of potential for the franchise like an ongoing series or movie.  With a deep story and its time traveling elements, it seems almost comparable to the hit indie game Life is Strange. 

Quantum Break will launch on Windows 10 devices that run DirectX 12, as well as on Xbox One, on April 5.
